As we get closer to opening our expanded marina on the waterfront, the Town is looking for a new name that feels right for Pictou.

Only TWO market days left this season!

We can hardly believe we’re getting so close to the end of another wonderful market season. There are just two Wednesdays left to come down to Market Square, shop from our local bakers, makers, and producers, pick up some fresh local food, listen to some music, and enjoy an evening with your neighbours.

Bring your grocery bags and come stock up for the week!

Something a little extra special for our final market on Wednesday, September 23rd, when we’ll be gathering for Supper in the Square.

Our local makers, bakers, and producers are coming together to provide 100 free portions of soup, a roll, and a cookie for our community. The meal is free and open to everyone, while supplies last.

Brad Prest will also be joining us with live music as we celebrate the end of the season together.

If you are looking for ways to volunteer in the community and make Pictou County a safer place for everyone, volunteering with Pictou County Volunteer Ground Search and Rescue is a fantastic idea. They are hosting a meet & greet and volunteer recruitment event this Saturday, September 12 from 9:00am until 4:00pm at the Canadian Tire New Glasgow parking lot. Stop by and learn about the ways you could help the community by joining, meet some members of the team, and see some of the equipment used!
