Celebrating pride with and ! We’re so grateful to be working alongside the Chamber at our new office in the Visitor Centre, and to have Nik Burton, AKA Miss Frida (aka: Frida Kahl Ho) working with us as well! 🏳️‍🌈
It was two years ago that the Arts Council hosted our own pride art-making workshops, and had someone post hate speech posters on our door and bulletin board.
Whoever did that clearly didn’t realize that by posting hate, you only bring the pride community closer together. This goes out to anyone who is against what this flag means. Q***r people exist, always have, always will!

Artist Feature: Tony Theriault

Tony Theriault is a prominent glass worker in the Alberni Valley. He is currently featuring some of his beautiful glass pieces at the Alberni Valley Visitor Centre. Tony’s work ranges from $25-$135.

Originally from Victoria, Tony moved to Port Alberni in the mid-90s as a swim team coach. The West Coast vibe stuck with him. Not only is his love for the surrounding area displayed in his work, but it also encouraged him to make the Alberni Valley his permanent home base.

Thank you, Tony, for trusting the Alberni Valley Visitor Centre to showcase and sell your work!

If you’d like to purchase any of the featured pieces or explore more of Tony’s artwork, the Centre is open Monday-Friday from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Remember in high school when Jessica booked her party on the same night as Austin's, and suddenly you had to pick sides? Ah, the drama....

Wait, I’m getting word that you don’t have to just pick one and can actually attend multiple events on the 30th?? Sounds like drama-free-fun!

Unless of course you're catching Bram Stoker's "Dracula" at The Capitol Theatre - Port Alberni

Don't miss out on the fun this week, support local, and cure your FOMO!

This closure is so crews can align barriers, remove hazard trees, and maintain the rockfall fence in the area.
