Brody, next to our pile of donations for the food bank, for size reference (and cuteness). We filled an entire grocery cart with food donations!! 🥹🫶

Through all the stress I've endured this year, I've been practicing a lot of gratitude to counteract it.
This act of kindness that my clients and friends helped make possible made me tear up. The holidays are a tough time for me and many others. Its taken years to be able to enjoy them even in the slightest, honestly.

This job, being the Eager Beaver, has been a huge light in the dark during the holidays, and I am always grateful for the community that comes with the job.

There was a time in my life when my family and I relied on the foodbank to eat.
So, this was a special moment for me, dropping off all of our donations.
I've come so far...
I am proud of myself. And I am so grateful🙏 💜

I'm not done work for the holiday season yet, and I'd be happy to pick up any more donations out there.

Hi, my name is Sarah Jackson, long time trusted small business owner of Eager Beaver Services. I decided to branch out and explore providing another service, part time. Something involving two areas of my life that I have a lot of experience in and passion for… Hiking/being active outdoors and Animals, specifically Dogs. I am an avid hiker, always coming up with and pursuing hiking goals (2024’s goal was to hike 1000km). I’m also an ambassador for the local chapters of Hikerbabes (an all-women’s hiking group with chapters all over the world). I have had a dog in my life since the day my parents brought me home from the hospital. As an adult I've owned a rottweiler/Staffordshire mix and currently an American Staffordshire. Needless to say, I have experience with large powerful breeds and know what it means to be an extra responsible dog owner.

Adventure Buds is the perfect mesh of things for me, something I can do part time, that doesn’t feel like work at all!
A hiking & running service for your dog. An opportunity to also get some socializing in, as my dog Brody, would always be along for the adventure.

Hello to all the wonderful human connections I've made out there!

Did you know I started this business out of the need to provide for my pet? My cat, Wiley, broke his leg, and I needed to come up with ways to pay for his vet bills. Something my regular job wouldn't afford me. Long story short, I love animals! And caring for something, more than myself, has always been a large motivator in my life. I have had a cat and/or dog since the day my parents brought me home from the hospital.

In the new year, I'm looking to expand myself in terms of business. I thought, what is another way I can help people, also while feeding my soul and doing something I love, so it doesn't feel like work?
Well, I love animals, and I LOVE hiking and being active. Plus--my dog Brody absolutely loves dogs and is in desperate need of more doggy friends.
In 2025, I'm going to start offering (under another business name, details to follow in the new year) a dog hiking and running service!
I'm in the research phase right now, collecting information so I can provide the best service I can.
I would be operating in the tri-city area, much like Eager Beaver (I live in Port Coquitlam). Providing pick up/drop off of your dog in this area, but we may go out hiking & running all over the place. Adventure has no bounds!

For the entire month of December, I will be collecting items to donate to the local food bank. When I was growing up, my family needed the food bank. I know what it's like to be without food and shelter, and I am very fortunate to be able to provide for myself and my family as an adult now.
If you have anything you would like to donate, please let me know.

Here are the top 10 items requested at the food bank. Anything you have to donate is appreciated, though!

Canned vegetables

Canned fruit

Canned beans (chickpeas, black beans, kidney beans)

Canned tuna

Peanut butter

Pasta and pasta sauce

Rice, oats, barley

Hearty soup, stew, chili

Small snack items (granola bars, fruit cups, applesauce)

Toiletries (feminine hygiene products, baby diapers)
