It was a complete honor to be selected as one of only 22 travel agents to participate in Vacation Express’ first Hawaii FAM trip! In Oahu I stayed at Aulani, Twin Fin, Hyatt Regency, and Hilton Hawaiian Village, and also toured several resorts including Royal Hawaiian, Sheraton, Moana Surfrider, Marriott, Four Seasons, and Alohilani.

My personal favorites for location were Royal Hawaiian, Sheraton, and Moana Surfrider. I love being right on the beach and in the middle of everything Waikiki has to offer. Every resort has such a different vibe, and seeing them all in person really shows how important picking the right fit is depending on the client and the kind of trip they want.

I even hiked Diamond Head in flip-flops 🤣 and spent a lot of time with my BDMs and other amazing agents. I learned so much about Hawaii, the islands, and what makes each resort unique, and I’m so excited to help my clients find the perfect island, location, and resort for their trip!

I got to stay at Royal Lahaina and site several resorts including Andaz, Sheraton, Hyatt, Westin & Wailea. Each property is different and fits different people. My personal favorite was the Sheraton! My least favorite was surprisingly Andaz. I thought it would be one of my favorites because of the brand, but I couldn’t get past a lot of the views being obstructed by unsightly rooftops. I’d only recommend certain room categories there for people who really value a view. This is why seeing resorts in person is so helpful for my clients. I was blown away by the views at the Sheraton and the overall vibe. That being said, every property had special elements and fit a specific type of client!

I also got to experience the Road to Hana. Let’s chat to see if you should or shouldn’t do the Road to Hana 🤣

I also got to experience a luau. Thankfully the weather held up and we got to enjoy the show. They even gave us travel agents on the Vacation Express FAM trip a big shoutout!

Kualoa Ranch
We did the 2hr UTV Raptor tour. So worth it. Tip go early. Crowds and traffic start building up afternoon. We did 9:00am and it was perfect. Guides were awesome, views spectacular. You will get dusty. If you don’t want to wear the goggles bring light color sunglasses. They have so many different tour options and you can even get married there. There’s also a gift shop and a little restaurant on site.

Review of Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa

Ok so I’m still here and haven’t done all the things yet. Planning on getting a Dole whip for lunch after my coffee breakfast 😋

First reaction was Disneyyyyy. The resort is spotless, clean, and beautiful with Polynesian vibes right on Kohola Lagoon in Ko Olina ⛱️

That said, there are kids… duh right? At the pools it does feel a little waterpark style. I couldn’t help but glance over at the Four Seasons for a minute… pics of that resort later 🤣

This is a family resort and great for big Disney fans. If that’s what you’re looking for, you will be beyond pleased! If not, this may not be the best fit for a casual stay without kids.

The food has been good, especially my poke bowl, but keep in mind things add up quickly (like $20 onion rings).
I’m not a cheap person, ask my awesome husband and then tell me what he says 🤣

I love Disney World and go at least two more times this year, but honestly this resort feels perfect for a few nights unless you fall into the category above.

Now more good stuff… I love the beach here because I like my ocean calm like a swimming pool and it delivers. The adults only hot tubs are great, beds are comfy, staff are friendly, engaging, and always smiling. The entertainment is very Disney and that’s magical 😁
