More than just a kayak outfitter!

This season we're broadening our scope and commitment to low impact and human powered adventures on Haida Gwaii.

We have expanded our rental fleet to include long range E-Bikes (100km) suitable for cruising backroads, trails and our scenic oceanview highway. Want the scenery of kayaking without the constraint of a cockpit? Try one of our inflatable paddleboards fully equipped with adjustable paddles, performance fins and safety equipment.

New Tour Alert!📣

The K'uuna Gwaay and Kun⨱alas Conservancies have long evoked the ethos of Haida Gwaii. Starting in 2026 we'll be offering a 4 Day Tour through these historic and culturally significant regions.

The area contains multiple villages/seasonal camps and continues to support rich marine and terrestrial food gathering for local people. Today K'uuna Gwaay is a Watchmen site, meaning it is protected and preserved by stewards of the Haida Nation.

This tour balances cultural learning with a wild landscape and the open sea. Looking west you'll witness unique vertical rock features, limestone deposits and stunning beaches. While gazing east upon Hecate Strait offers the opportunity to view the larger marine mammals such as Stellar Sea Lions and Humpback Whales.

We're grateful for the opportunity from the Haida Nation to share these lands and waters with guests in a responsible and sustainable manner. We ask that visitors do their part prior to booking and check out the Haida Pledge.

Another successful season in the books for Haida Gwaii Kayak!

We have so much gratitude for all those who chose to adventure with us on the land and waters of the Haida Nation this summer! Haawa/ Háw’aa to our guests, guides and partners who make our summer operations possible and memorable!

Our tours are officially closed for the season, however rentals will remain available on a case by case basis. We're eagerly awaiting summer 2026 with exciting new things in store, so keep your eyes peeled for our updated tour schedule.

Wondering what you might nibble on during a tour with us? Rest assured it will be nutritious, tasty and not far from our home!

It’s no secret that Haida Gwaii is a paradise when it comes to wild and foraged foods. Above are just a handful of the local food suppliers we use to add some North Coast flare to our cuisine while out paddling. No dehydrated meals, just dining like West Coast royalty. With items like fresh baked sourdough, chanterelle mushrooms and candied salmon.

After our tours we happily point guests in the right direction so they can bring home some appetizing souvenirs to share with friends and family.

We’re grateful to work with these other local businesses and support them as they do us. Every dollar spent locally has a ripple effect, strengthening our neighborhood and giving back to the very people who make our community great. Let’s make a difference together!

We're hiring locally!

Haida Gwaii Kayak (HGK) is seeking to train and employ a resident of Haida Gwaii to join our team in the 2025 season (June-September) as an Assistant Sea Kayak Guide.

The Assistant Guide/Shore Support position is a versatile role where the guide will assist with guiding tours, help coordinate bookings and support daily operations including rental services. The successful candidate will be supported for the role by paid training & certifications before the start of their season.
