My best hunting dog Garry left us yesterday peacefully at home with his loved ones around him. He knew it was time to let go and waited until Delta got home from camp.

It’s impossible to explain the relationship we had with him. He was different. He thought he was a person and we treated him like one.

If you had the good fortune of being around Garry you know what a kind, warm, obedient and loving dog he was. Garry required virtually no training, he just wanted to serve.

If you were lucky enough to hunt behind him you can attest to what an insane hunter he was. Size meant nothing. He was all heart.

Please have a toast to Garry because he loved you as he did us.

He will be missed dearly by our family but Grandpa needs his company more than us.
