We are on the Galena Bay Ferry (or the Upper Arrow Lake Ferry), in the West Kootneys, BC. The view out here is absolutely jaw dropping! Here you are surrounded by the beautiful forested Monashee and Selkirk mountains that rise to elevations over 2600 meters! The water is so vast it almost seems like you could be floating on the ocean waves. Bull trout, Burbot, and Northern Pikeminnows swim bountifully through these waters.
The Galena Bay Ferry runs across Upper Arrow Lake, 49 km south of Revelstoke on Highway 23, between Shelter Bay (west side) and Galena Bay (east side).
The Galena Bay Ferry crosses over to Shelter bay everyday from 5:30am - 12:30am, leaving every hour on the half hour. The Shelter Bay Ferry crosses over to Galena Bay from 5am - Midnight, leaving every hour. Keep in mind September - May, refueling will occur on Fridays at 8:45am which may cause minor delays for one or two sailings. From May to September refueling will occur on Thursdays at 5:45am.
