We love this beautiful moment captured four years ago as we gathered together to witness Sweetgrass Warrior’s inaugural flight launching Iskwew Air scheduled service from south terminal to Qualicum Beach airport!

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey in connecting people to each other and to the land ✈️🌿

Feeling a little left out that we couldn’t attend the inaugural flight into Qualicum today, but we can share in the celebration with our Sisters who were there! 🎉🎉

CONGRATULATIONS to and Iskwew Air!!!! Teara is the first Indigenous woman to open her own airline, and she flies too! We couldn’t be more proud of you Teara with your resiliency and strength! You truly are an amazing human and you are such an inspiration!!✈❤

Iskwew Air (ISS-KWAY-YO) is a reliable, Indigenous-woman owned airline which provides 24-hour charter services to communities around the province of British Columbia. Iskwew is based out of YVR and operates a twin engine PA31 Piper Navajo Chieftain called the Sweetgrass Warrior.

The Sweetgrass Warrior cruises at 170kts, has a range of 700nm, and can carry a total payload of 1600lbs (max 8 passengers, cargo, or a combination*).

A charter airline provides unscheduled flight services. Clients can schedule a flight with Iskwew Air whenever they want, wherever they want, with whoever they want*. Iskwew Air is a safe and reliable air service for everyone. ​ We continue to operate to deliver essential goods through the AirLIFT campaign so that Indigenous communities can get provisions, freight, critical medical supplies and more.
