Musical Afternoon with Mary Smith & The Country Gents topped off with a delicious meal at “Famous New Glasgow Lobster Suppers”, other options are also available…
Once we will travel across the Confederation Bridge, we will be stopping at the Gate Way Village for some shopping and lunch (on your own). I suggest you bring a picnic lunch as many picnic tables are available. We will then make our way to the beautiful Brackley Beach area for an enjoyable afternoon with Mary Smith & The Country Gents. Mary, and her Musical Talent, is well-known across the Island. We will also be available, some afternoon refreshments. After an awesome afternoon of Musical entertainment, we will all be ready for a delicious supper at “New Glasgow Lobster Suppers” who are celebrating their 66th year of operation. The Meal includes a choice of Lobster, Baked Ham, 8 oz Strip Loin Steak, Pan Seared Haddock, Chicken Supreme, Atlantic Salmon or Vegetarian Pasta. In addition to those food items the meal will consist of Mussels, Seafood Chowder, Soup of the Day, Salad Plate consisting of Coleslaw, Potato Salad, Tossed Salad and Tea, Coffee, Sodas & a variety of Desserts. As we leave this beautiful Island, we will take home with us some wonderful memories of a well spent day.

🚨 WARNING: This might make some people uncomfortable but it needs to be said.
Today I met a couple living in a tiny trailer attached to the back of a bike 🚲💔

Not a van.
Not a tent.
A literal bike trailer as their home.

(And before anyone asks yes, I spoke with them and got permission to share their living situation to help raise awareness).

I talked with them and no, they weren’t “lazy.”
They weren’t on drugs.
They weren’t asking for handouts.

They were just people who got hit with life.

The woman is a mom of two kids 7 and 11.
Her children are staying with family while she tries to survive this. Let that sink in 😞

They told me it’s “not too bad” because it’s better than sleeping outside.

That’s where we’re at now.

I gave them $4 in change and some snacks.
They were beyond grateful.

Then she told me she had a bad toothache. I asked if she had anything for it. She had no pain relief, nothing.

So I went and got her Advil and Orajel 🛒

The guy tried to give me $10 to pay me back for the Orajel.

Meanwhile, we’ve got people online arguing over politics, blaming everything under the sun while THIS is happening right in front of us in our very own city Moncton, New Brunswick.

Here’s the uncomfortable truth 👇

In New Brunswick, you can do everything right and STILL end up here.

One missed paycheque.
One job loss.
One rent increase.

That’s it.

But sure let’s keep pretending this is normal. 👍

Let’s keep blaming individuals instead of asking why so many people are falling this hard.

Because if you think this “could never be you”you might be closer than you think.

This isn’t just their story.

It’s a warning ⚠️

Something is seriously broken in Canada and ignoring it won’t fix it.

Burgess Tours – Doug and Linda Burgess would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers, for their continued support over the past 23 years. Work doesn’t feel like work when you love what you do every day and meet amazing people along the way. We have enjoyed the Journey with you all, and it is bittersweet that we have decided to announce our retirement. We will only be offering 3 Tours in 2026. Annual Tour to Myrtle Beach for 2026.
I realize that some of you are not ready to travel to the US and I absolutely understand.
But on the other hand, I have had some interest and since I had rebooked everything for 2026 when I cancelled the 2025 Tour, Doug and I decided to offer this Tour.
That being said we must have a minimum of 30 Passengers in order to make it feasible to go.
Please reply ASAP as our cut off for the Tour is February 28, 2026.

“Fun in the Sun Myrtle Beach Winter Vacation”

11 Days at the Dayton House Resort featuring Ocean Front Efficiency Units with Balconies (newly renovated 6 years ago)

On the return home we will visit the Town of Mayberry the home of Andy Griffiths and a must stop at the Luray Caverns, VA

Saturday April 18: Welcome aboard everyone as we depart for Sunny Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We will make several stops today for coffee, lunch & bathroom breaks as we travel along. We will make our first night’s stay away from home at the beautiful Fairfield Inn, Tewksbury Mass. Prior to check in we will have supper at the famous Cracker Barrel Restaurant (not included).

Sunday April 19: After a good night sleep and delicious breakfast, we will travel through several States to our 2nd night’s destination at the Fairfield Inn, Wi******er VA. A Group Dinner is included this evening.

Monday April 20: Today following breakfast at the Hotel, we will travel a short distance on Scenic Route 66 and then take the I 95 towards Myrtle Beach. We will make several breaks along the way.
Checking in late afternoon you can start your “Fun in the Sun Vacation”. The Hotel offers Great Amenities, Central location and best of all Southern Hospitality…
Amenities include Oceanfront Tanning Lawn, Indoor/Outdoor Pools, Hot Tub Spas, Lazy River, Free Wi-Fi, Fitness/Laundry, Business Centre, walking distance to Shops & Dining. Tuesday April 21: The Motor Coach will leave around 10:30 AM to take you to the Local Grocery Store so you can stock up on Items needed for your vacation stay while here in beautiful Myrtle Beach.

Your stay in Myrtle Beach (April 20- May 1) will include 1 Show – The Legends Theatre & Dinner, Lunch Cruise on the Barefoot Queen, 3 Group Meals, Dayton House Evening Bingo Social, 11 Buffet Breakfasts, as well as an Excursion Day to Brookgreen Gardens with lunch, Shopping, Sight Seeing of Myrtle Beach and ample time for Rest & Relaxation to do as you like!! Friday May 1: Today we will leave beautiful Myrtle Beach and travel to the little Town of Mayberry, NC, the home of Andy Griffiths, just in time for lunch. In the afternoon you will enjoy a guided Tour of this little town which will take you back in time.
Mid-Afternoon we will make our way to Roanoke where we will over night. (Supper on your own).

Saturday May 2: Today after breakfast at the Hotel we will depart & travel a short distance to the beautiful Luray Caverns. The other attractions included at this visit is the Car & Carriage Museum along with the Luray Valley Museum. We will spend the morning here and have lunch (on our own) before we depart for Allentown PA, where we will check into the Holiday Inn. (Supper on your own this evening).

Sunday May 3: We will depart after Breakfast and make our way further north to overnight in Portland, Maine. I have arranged a “Farewell Group Dinner” for you tonight at the hotel (included) followed by an evening of entertainment and the Special Guests are “YOU “so get busy and have a song ready, a skit, a poem about the Trip or what-ever-strikes your fancy!! (Bring along a musical instrument if you play)

Monday May 4: Following Breakfast this morning we will travel towards home with a lunch stop along the way, and then we are off to Duty Free prior to crossing the Canadian Border.
Please have your passports and receipts available for the Canadian Customs. Once we cross the Border, we are home to our beautiful “Country of Canada” taking with us wonderful memories and many new friendships that will last a lifetime.
