On September 1st all the stars aligned to bring 24 Lakehead University@mylakehead Environmental Management and Forestry Students out on Lake Superior via Jackfish Lake and visit the old ghost town. We traveled in our 34ft Montreal Canoe, sea kayaks and tandem canoes. It was just awesome!

The magnificent setting of Trowbridge Island Light, Ontario, Canada on Lake Superior. Established on the summit of the island in 1924, the light remains an active aid to navigation serviced by the Canadian Coast Guard. Overall maintenance of the site was leased to the non-profit group Canadian Lighthouses of Lake Superior (www.clls.ca) in 2016. To honour this Lake Superior Day, here's a post of some fresh photos from some of our programs this season so far. We have been on the lake so much it has been hard to find time to sort through and share with you all.

What a lake this is eh? hopefully these photos inspire some of the wonder that this beautiful place offers. We are so fortunate to travel on these great waters and even more so to share these moments with so many of you who truly appreciate and care for it.

The smoke cleared up significantly today in Red Rock and our staff team was able to spend a full day on organizational work. We focused on cleaning the garage, setting up better storage systems to move between Thunder Bay and Rossport, repairing gear, debriefing the last month, and prepping for the next 1.5 months of trips. It was so nice to breathe and get out for a hike at the end of the day! It has been a real challenge just to spend time outside during our peak season when our entire lives runs around taking people outside on adventures. Our hearts go out to all those have been more directly affected by the fires in the region. Hopefully things are on the up and we can get back to running our expeditions aswell as days tours and courses along the north shore of Lake Superior.
