Tonight is our last night together 😭. This was a fantastic tour with the best group ever. ( all my groups are awesome). Everything and everyone was wonderful. The group all became friends at the very beginning of the trip and there was never a dull moment. It is so much fun to hear everyone’s highlights and which meal was the favourite.
A huge thank you to everyone for being prompt to the coach in the mornings and at every stop, it really helped keep us on time.
Elias our TRAXX Coachlines driver worked so hard trying to keep the coach clean in some very dusty conditions. He is so good, so good, so good at getting the coach in and out of some tight spots. Thank you Elias.

We had a great day for wildlife spotting today. We left Watson Lake this morning after a delicious and hearty breakfast. After a break at Coal River we went to Liard River Hot Springs where we had a picnic lunch provided by Andrea's Hotel. Sandwiches were fresh and delicious. Some went into the springs while others relaxed in the great outdoors.
We loaded up and started to make our way towards Fort Nelson with another quick break at Toad River Lodge. Our second to last night in Fort Nelson and tomorrow we are in Grande Prairie.

We are making our way closer to home with day 13&14 finished. Mostly travel days with a lot of beautiful scenery as we drive out of Alaska and into Yukon.
On our way towards Tok yesterday we had a break at the Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge. A great place to stop as they have plenty of washrooms and a beautiful visitor center. As we crossed the border into Canada at Beaver Creek ww sang O Canada with gusto. Our lunch was at Kluane Energy in Burwash Landing. They had plenty of food to offer us as we continued on down the road.

Haines Junction was our last stop of the day and Hyatt Place in Whitehorse was our stop for the night.

Day 14: We had a visit to Miles Canyon just outside of Whitehorse before leaving town this morning. What a gorgeous area. Time to walk across the suspension bridge and admire the view.
We stopped at the the Nisutlin Trading Post in Teslin to grab and go lunch and made our way to the The George Johnston Museum where the staff there had set up tables for us and invited us back into the museum for another look.
We had an early check in at Andrea's Hotel where the were ready for us and it left like coming back home.

We are on our way towards Canada today after a spectacular time in Alaska. Yesterday was mostly a travel day but we had a tour at a Musk Ox farm. These animals are certainly different from what we usually see.
We enjoyed an included lunch at Grandview cafe in Chickaloon, AK where we had great service and good food. Arrival in Tok in time to relax, have some supper and get ready to continue our amazing journey together. This group has become one happy family with a lot of laughs and “miles of smiles”.
Another huge thank you to Elias our TRAXX Coachlines driverfor his skill on driving on some pretty rough roads.

Day 10: We left Fairbanks and headed towards Anchorage, and more adventures. With a coffee stop in Healy, AK and our picnic lunch at Denali View Point South. A great lunch was prepared by Bear Lodge at Wedgewood Resort.
We had a very fun and informative tour at Alaska Sled Dog Tours. Our guides answered all of our questions about the Iditarod. This is home to 6 time champion Dallas Seavey. We had time to pet some dogs and play with puppies.
We arrived at our hotel Crowne Plaza Anchorage-Midtown in time for supper and a relaxing night.
Day 11: after a wonderful breakfast we met our Alaska Coach Tours driver JC who was at the wheel today as Elias deserved a day off. JC kept us amused and amazed at his knowledge and stories about the area. We visited Portage Glacier Day Lodge for coffee before we made our way through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel. The tunnel is the longest highway tunnel in North America and serves as the only land route connecting Whittier with the rest of the state. It is a single lane that alternates between trains.
We spent the next 5 hours on Phillips Cruises and Tours-Prince William Sound Glacier Cruise. Lunch was served and we had a chance to view many glaciers as well as other beautiful scenery. Another great day!

We had a fantastic day in Fairbanks yesterday starting with a guided tour of the city including the Alaska pipeline. Our guide Nick was very informative and has a great sense of humour. Elias our TRAXX Coachlines driver did a great job following the directions and getting us in and out of some tight spots.

The highlight of our stay here in Fairbanks was an included lunch and the Riverboat Discovery tour. Lunch was served family style with big pots of hot stew, roasted vegetables, buns and salad followed by dessert.

All aboard for the tour on the Chena River on the Discovery II for a 3 hour tour with a wonderful stop at Chena village to learn all about their history, cultures and displays. We also had a float plane, sled dog and learned how they caught and prepared their salmon for smoking.

After a full day on the water and in the sun it was time to head back to the hotel for a relaxing dinner and evening as tomorrow’s adventures await.

Our home for the next 2 nights is at the beautiful Bear Lodge at Wedgewood Resort. We had a fantastic day today starting with a great breakfast at Young's Motel in Tok. We stopped at the Visitor Centre in Delta Junction to get certificates showing that we arrived at the end of the Alaska Highway. Next we had a scatter lunch at North Pole Plaza followed by a visit to see Santa at Santa Claus House. Wow! This store is Christmas overload. We had a couple of hours to relax before we went for supper at Alaska Salmon Bake and then to the very entertaining show at Golden Heart R***e at the Palace Theatre. Such a great way to tell Fairbanks history.
A great day with a lot of laughs.

A huge thank you to Matt with The Klondike Experience for showing us the sights and telling us the history of Dawson City. We toured the area as well as spent time at Dredge No.4 and Discovery Claim which is where the start of the gold rush happened. We drove up to The Midnight Dome which overlooks the town, Klondike and Yukon Rivers. Such a beautiful spot.

The group wants to send out a huge thank you to Pro Tours for treating us to a picnic lunch which we had in the park by the river in Dawson City.
Next it was time to cross the Yukon River and enjoy the scenery as we travelled down the Top of the World Highway. Wow!
A stop in Chicken, Alaska to stretch, do some shopping and grab coffee was enjoyed by all as we still had almost 2 hours to get to Tok, Alaska.
More adventures await.
