Keeping with the theme this week- Tenerife in the Canary Islands. Here I compare two of the hotels that I shared in the Air Canada deal in January.

Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora🏨
This is the hotel I would lean toward for couples or multi-generational families who want a more upscale, relaxing holiday. The oceanfront location, extensive gardens, large pool areas and Spa by Clarins give it a more luxurious resort feel. For couples, the Red Level options are particularly attractive if they want a quieter and more exclusive experience.

Bahia Principe Explore Fantasia 🏨
This is the stronger choice for families with children, especially if entertainment and activities are important. It is specifically designed as a family-themed resort, with a Kids Club, Teens Club, children's water park, splash pool, family activities and professional evening shows.

It also works surprisingly well for multi-generational holidays, because grandparents and parents can relax in the adults-only infinity pool or spa while children have plenty to keep them occupied. The hotel also offers rooms that can accommodate larger families.

Looking for a mini-break close to home? How about a day trip or weekend in Stratford, Ontario.

🎭The Stratford Festival continues until mid-November. See the pictures below with the options. I think I would choose Something Rotten or A Midsummer Night's Dream.

There are hotels in every budget from September 12-14, 2026 just to give you an example.

💲On a budget? Me to! I would suggest the Rodeway in starts at 159/night and has an indoor pool.

💲💲Looking for a vacation rental? I have those to and I would suggest the Annabelle Stone Maiden Inn might better fit your needs starting at 189/night, bonus it is pet friendly.

💲💲💲Want to be in the heart of the action? Then I suggest the Mercer Hotel in downtown starting at 349/night, room service.

Looking for other things to do? No worries there is the Junction 56 Distillery, Black Swan Brewery, parks, art galleries, shopping, good restaurants and so much. There is always a good chance you will see a swan.🦢
