Another update to our September and October calendar and another little milestone for Fundy eBike Tours.

Our current 2026 bookings for September and October have now exceeded what we achieved during those same two months in 2025.

I'm very happy with the growth, but I'm probably even happier with how concentrated it has become.

Right now, all of those bookings are spread across just 28 guiding days in September and October. That number will likely grow into the low 30s before we're finished, but that's a level of growth that feels very sustainable.

The next goal isn't simply to add more days. It's to continue filling the days that are already on the calendar.

Many of those days won't need two tours because cruise ship arrival and departure times only make one practical. But where two tours are possible, we're increasingly seeing both departures being used. We currently have 13 days with two tours scheduled.

That's also one of the reasons I continue to share some of the business side of Fundy eBike Tours.

A few people have expressed interest in guiding with us in the future, and these numbers are beginning to show what that opportunity might actually look like.

In 2027, we're again planning to concentrate our Discover Saint John by eBike tours into September and October. I'll continue guiding, and I'm still quite comfortable doing two tours in a day. But the next stage of growth will be bringing another guide into some of those two-tour days.

Rather than trying to create a full-time seasonal position immediately, I can see us starting much more gradually: another guide taking one of the departures on selected two-tour days while I take the other.

This year will give us a much better idea of exactly how many of those opportunities exist. We already have 13 two-tour days on the calendar, and there are still almost two months of bookings ahead of us.

That's the kind of growth I'm looking for.

Not simply more tours and more working days, but a business that becomes stronger, more sustainable and eventually creates opportunities for other people to become part of it.

And we'll keep sharing what we learn as the season unfolds.

🚧 Traffic Advisory: Labour Day Parade 🚧

Please be advised that a brief traffic closure will occur on Water Street on Monday, September 7, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to accommodate the Labour Day Parade.

⏱️ The closure is expected to last approximately 15 minutes as the parade moves through the area.

The parade route will travel from Long Wharf to Smythe Street, Union Street, St. Patrick Street, along Water Street, and finish at Area506.

🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ Road and sidewalk signage will be in place. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes if necessary, drive with caution, and be aware of increased pedestrian activity.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we help ensure a safe and enjoyable event for all participants and spectators.

I know that my guests are hardy, but I have to ask anyway at the few exit ramps we have.

We didn't melt in the rain this morning.

One of the things I’ll be pointing out to my guests this month is just how important the Irving Oil refinery is beyond Saint John.

It is Canada’s largest refinery, capable of processing more than 320,000 barrels a day, and more than half of its finished products are exported to the U.S. Northeast.

Beginning September 8, it enters Operation Osprey, a major 75-day maintenance turnaround. With U.S. East Coast diesel and heating-oil inventories already at record lows, it helps explain why what happens at the refinery here in Saint John can matter well beyond New Brunswick.

If you live on the East Coast, diesel and heating oil are about to ...

Good things I see in my Saint John.

While our morning tour rode Charlotte St, I am surprised to see that it is still closed tonight.
