About 30 minutes from Saint-Quentin, Mount Carleton Provincial Park covers more than 17,000 hectares in the heart of the Appalachians.
The park has 11 trails, ranging from short walks to full-day hikes toward the summits, including Mount Carleton, the highest peak in the Maritimes at 820 metres.
The Portage Trail, between Nictau and Nepisiguit lakes, also follows routes used for thousands of years by Wolastoqey and Mi’kmaq peoples.
After sunset, the park’s dark sky designation also makes it a great place for stargazing. 🌌
Worth noting: campground dates can vary in the fall, so it’s best to check before heading out.
