It's been amazing gardening weather up here. Really perfect in many ways. We are so blessed to live in this paradise. When i walk out in the morning, step off of my patio, breath deep the clean and fragrant mountain air i know that i've found my home. So grateful for that. I have dug two new gardens this year, both rock gardens where once there was Salal. I like Salal, very useful plant, bees and deer love them too, however there are lots of it up here. So, wanting to open up the entrace of the path that leads up to the top of the mountain, i dug out a couple of hundred square feet of it and started to condition the soil, putting in some ferns, some moss, various wildflowers. I'm going to plant some berry bushes there most likely this week also, those are useful and deer proof. So far the only things the deer did not nibble in there, at least to test are the oriental poppies. They do not have a taste for those so that's what is mainly coming up. At the same time i brought three older gardens back to life, digging out the weeds and some dead bushes and adding some composted sheep maneur, a bit of lime and started preparing those areas to be included in my garden master plan which is very much in formation at the moment. It's coming together. And then the main garden that i worked on last year, well it is LUSH and full of crunchy and deliscious goodness already. A few pics to go with my update for u to illustrate.
