See the Southern Gulf Islands from a different perspective. 🛶🌊
Writer Claudia Laroye recently paddled a section of the Salish Sea Marine Trail near Galiano Island, part of the Trans Canada Trail network.

From coastal landscapes to marine life, read about her experience exploring the Southern Gulf Islands from the water. 👇

There’s a new place to eat on Pender Island. 🌊🍴

Meet Lorelei, a new seaside eatery at Hope Bay, created from the same spirit as the beloved Cheesecake Fridge. What started as an honour-system fridge filled with homemade cheesecake has grown into a place to gather over good food, take in the waterfront, and linger a little longer.

At Lorelei, stop by for:
🍴 Lunch Wednesday–Saturday | 11:30 a m – 3 pm
🍸 Happy Hour Wednesday–Saturday | 3 – 4 pm
🥐 Sunday Brunch | 10 am – 2 pm
🌊 Seaside patio + takeaway window

And yes, The Cheesecake Fridge is still there! Find it at the entrance to the Hope Bay dock, stocked with something sweet seven days a week.

Add Lorelei to your list for your next Pender Island visit 💛

1 month until one of Salt Spring Island’s favourite fall traditions returns. 🍎🍂

The Salt Spring Island Apple Festival is back on Sunday, September 27, celebrating the island’s incredible apple-growing history with orchards, tastings, local food, c***r and, of course, a whole lot of apples.

Here’s a taste of what you can explore:
🍎 More than 500 varieties of Salt Spring-grown apples are hoped to be on display at Fulford Hall. Last year featured a record 556 varieties, all grown on the island.
🌳 Around 15 host farms and orchards will open their gates, each offering something a little different to discover.
🍏 Taste dozens of apple varieties and find a new favourite, including varieties you may have never seen at the grocery store.
🥧 Get there early for the famous apple pies from the Pie Ladies; they usually sell out by noon!
🍺 Visit local c***ries, distilleries, a winery and brewery along the way.
🌿 Explore orchards with apple-growing histories stretching all the way back to the 1870s.

📅 Sunday, September 27 | 9 am - 5 pm
🎟 Adults $10 | Students $5 | Kids free
🎟 Tickets available on festival day only from 9 am - 3 pm outside Fulford Hall and the Ganges Visitor Information Centre. No advance ticket sales.

Save the date and start planning your fall trip to Salt Spring Island, in the Southern Gulf Islands. 🍂🍎
