🇮🇹 Day 8 — Naples to Sorrento! 🇮🇹

We started the day with an orientation walk through Naples, getting one last look at this fascinating and lively city before heading off to the Amalfi Coast.

From Naples, we had a private transfer to our hotel just outside of Sorrento. After getting settled in, we headed into Sorrento to explore a little and, of course, enjoy one of the local specialties — Limoncello! 🍋🥃

We had a fun limoncello tasting and then some free time to wander around Sorrento, take in the beautiful streets and shops, and enjoy the atmosphere of this gorgeous coastal town.

After the busy days in Tuscany and Cinque Terre, it feels like the trip just keeps getting better as we make our way toward the Amalfi Coast! 🇮🇹❤️

🇮🇹 From the sights and tastes of Tuscany to the energy of Naples! 🇮🇹

Our final morning in Tuscany started with a beautiful hike from Villa Pitiana into the nearby town and back, taking in more of that incredible Tuscan countryside along the way. Rolling hills, vineyards, olive groves and stunning views — it was the perfect way to start the day.

We spent the afternoon enjoying some free time at the villa, slowing down and soaking up the beautiful surroundings before heading out for a Tuscan wine tasting as our pre-dinner activity. 🍷 What a wonderful way to experience the flavours of the region!

The next morning, it was time to say goodbye to Tuscany. A private transfer took us back to Florence, where we boarded the high-speed train to Naples, reaching speeds of up to 300 km/h! 🚄

Once in Naples, we checked into our hotel right by the train station. Convenient location… although definitely not one I would recommend! 😂

After settling in, we enjoyed dinner with the group and then it was time for something very important — my NFL Fantasy Football draft! 🏈🏆

It may be a long way from Saskatchewan, but apparently nothing — not even travelling through Italy — gets in the way of fantasy football draft night!

Another couple of memorable days filled with great scenery, incredible food and wine, new experiences and lots of laughs. Tuscany may be behind us, but the Italian adventure continues! 🇮🇹❤️

🌴 Dream Beaches in September and October: Where to Go to Avoid Hurricanes and Sargassum 🌊✨

Another beautiful day in Italy! 🇮🇹❤️

We said goodbye to La Spezia and the Cinque Terre and headed into the gorgeous Chianti region of Tuscany. 🍇🌿

Along the way, we stopped in Pisa for a visit to the famous Leaning Tower. It was wonderful to have some time to take in the sights and learn about the fascinating history of the area — and of course, we had to get the classic photos with the tower! 😂📸

From Pisa, we continued on to San Donato in Fronzano, where we arrived at our beautiful home for the next part of the trip — Villa Pitania. 🏡❤️

What a wonderful place! A gorgeous Tuscan villa surrounded by beautiful countryside, vineyards and that peaceful Italian atmosphere you dream about when you think of Tuscany. 🍷🌻

After the busy days exploring the Cinque Terre, it was the perfect place to slow down, relax and enjoy a completely different side of Italy.

🇮🇹 Cinque Terre — what an adventure!

We took the train from La Spezia to Riomaggiore, the first of the five Cinque Terre villages, before heading on to Corniglia. After climbing what seemed like a million stairs 😂, we grabbed a sandwich and set off on our 3-hour hike to Vernazza.

It was HOT, steep and definitely challenging — but the views were absolutely incredible! 🥾🌊 Highly recommend the hike!

The next day, I continued exploring with the hike from Riomaggiore to Manarola, lunch in Vernazza, and then on to Monterosso, completing all five villages. So I think I can officially say I’m now a Cinque Terre expert! 😂

That evening we headed to Porto Venere for a boat ride along the coast, a swim, and dinner at a lovely seaside restaurant before taking the local bus back to La Spezia.

Two incredible days, five villages, lots of stairs, plenty of hiking, a boat ride, a swim and some amazing Italian food! ❤️🇮🇹

🇮🇹 The Italian adventure continues! ❤️

After a relaxing few nights at the B&B Hotel Firenze City Centre, we were up and out for a quick guided walking tour of Florence — taking in the sights and soaking up the incredible history of this beautiful city.

Then we hopped on the bus and headed to Lucca, where we had a wonderful guided tour of the old walled city. Such a charming place, with narrow streets, beautiful architecture and plenty of little shops and cafés to explore. And, of course, we had to stop for an authentic Italian sandwich for lunch! 🥪🇮🇹

Then it was back on the road to La Spezia, where we checked into the Hotel Genova.

Another fabulous day of exploring, eating and enjoying la dolce vita! 🍷☀️❤️

Florence — Day One 🇮🇹❤️

What a first day in Florence! I spent the day exploring this incredible city and taking in so many of the iconic sights — the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio, the beautiful streets and piazzas, and so much more. There is something amazing around every corner!

And, of course, no Italian sightseeing day would be complete without a great lunch. Today I stopped at Paoli, one of Florence’s oldest and most traditional restaurants. What an experience — delicious, authentic Florentine food in a wonderfully lively atmosphere. 🇮🇹🍷

Florence is absolutely living up to the hype. The architecture, history, food and sheer beauty of this city are hard to beat. And this was only Day One!

Definately my favorite of the five !!

Welcome to Riomaggiore, one of the most beautiful villages in Cinque Terre. Brightly coloured houses rise above the small harbour, where fishing boats rest in the clear Mediterranean water. A view that makes you want to stay a little longer. 🇮🇹⛵
