Sandos Caracol Eco Review - Riviera Maya
- Italian resteraunt and Mexican are buffets
-another large bugfet with theme nights and tons of choices.
- hard to get reservations for a le cartes
- awesome kids water park with slides for teens and adults too. Must follow height requirements
- we stayed in building 18, overlooking river outside of the Waterpark. Amazing central location.
- beach is rocky and small
- kids club 4 years and up, under 4 can be in with a parent
- Great night shows and prekids show
- in the jungle
-lots of wildlife - turtles coatis monkeys
-lots of activities - cenotes,Mayan ruins, jungle walk, river boat cruise
- you go with bell boy and ride the golf cart to your room when checking in. Gave us a bit of a tour at the same time.
- activities at the main pool near swim up bar
-12 to 19 rooms perfect for kids and central location
- Friday night magic street is spectacular - market, food, carnival games, shows
- a le cartes very good
- we arrived in private transfer so beat the check in rush, and it went smoothly. She listened to my room request which was nice.
- the only line I've stood in was for the omelet station. The Mexican buffet is quieter for breakfast for sure. Food is okay. They arent winning any awards for food but we can always find something for my picky 4 year old. Lots of selection at buffet. Taco place was neat. They now have food 24 hours at El nido as room service is no longer. Not sure what's served late at night but there are options. The a le cartes are tricky to get in to. You have to book at midnight, and cross all your fingers hahaha.
Our room is clean. We have a king bed and bunks. Over looking the river right next to the aqua park. Very quiet. Haven't heard anyone else in other rooms. Spacious enough. Hot water in shower. No charges for wifi. Our breaker tripped for our lights and we called down and it was fixed in 15 min. Staff very friendly.
Grounds are beautiful, we took our 3 and 4 year old on a little hike today through the Mayan ruins and they loved it. We have only seen 2 monkeys so far so they arent everywhere. The coatis are more annoying trying to get whatever food they can.
Main pool is big but it's split up so you have to get out if the water to access the whole thing. Activity side on one side with swim up bar. Quieter on the other.
Brazilian restaurant was good. No kids menu but they did have a buffet there too.
The steak house and teppanyaki a le cartes were fantastic. Reservation process sucks.
Italian wasn't great, it was just an Italian buffet which disappoints me.
There is alot of people but it doesn't feel packed. Our weather hasn't been great so water park is slower.
