Gwaii Adventures was Founded in 2018 by Kyle May, starting with just one vintage 1984 VW Westfalia. Today, Kyle & his partner Kaylee set out with a single goal in mind: to make the breathtaking landscapes of Haida Gwaii accessible to everyone. We have since expanded our family to include 6 fully-equipped Adventure Vans, each ready to carry you beyond the tourist trails into the heart of the wild.

Not every great adventure takes weeks of planning.

Sometimes all it takes is a last-minute idea, a few messages, and a group of people willing to make it happen. Last night's sunset run out to Party Island was one of those moments—good company, incredible views, and a reminder that the best memories are often the ones you never saw coming.

Meet Gus, our official airport and base greeter! If you’ve had the chance to meet him, you already know how much he loves his job — and everyone he gets to meet along the way. From airport pickups to welcoming guests at the Gwaii Adventure Base, Gus makes sure everyone gets the best first impression of the island and the local small business we’re proud to share with you all.

Gus has a busy summer ahead making new friends, supervising adventures, and collecting belly rubs. If you see him out and about, make sure to stop and say hello!
