This past summer Pierre had the chance to show Nick and Amy, a podcasting couple from the UK, a little around downtown and give them a crash course on Newfoundland history and culture. The resulting podcast was just released and you can catch Part I here:

A theatre artist, singer, and all-around clown-about-town, Sam joined St. John’s Walking Tours in May 2025 - and she’s been delighting guests with her wit and stories ever since.
Her favourite stop? Holloway Street. Why? Because nothing beats the look on people’s faces when she shares the wild tale of the guy who snowboarded down the street and launched himself onto the South Beach Residences during Snowmageddon.

When it comes to St. John’s architecture, Sam has a soft spot for the bold orange-and-yellow striped house on Cummings Street. To her, it’s proof that creativity can thrive within heritage zone limits - freedom expressed in colour and character.

She lives by the words of Lucille Ball:
“I’d rather regret things I’ve done than regret things I haven’t done.”

Come walk with Sam before the season is done and see why her tours are as entertaining as they are enlightening. 👣
