The woodlot is alive with colour! Join local naturalist Denise Iszczuk for a fun, family-friendly walk to discover spring wildflowers. Come see what’s in bloom!

Please lug a mug or cup to recharge after your walk with some juice, tea, and cookies (kindly provided by the Sawyer Preservation Woodlot Association)!

It was a great day to be in the schoolyard of Avon Public School!
So many birds graced us with their presence today! How did they know today's science lesson would be about birds?
Crows were flying overhead and probably nesting in the trees of the schoolyard. A female mallard was wandering the schoolyard perhaps looking for a place to nest. A pair of Canada Geese flew by close enough to see their legs and belly feathers! At one time, there were eight robins on the ground looking for worms at the same time.
Did you hear or see any birds in your neighbourhood today?

If you go out into the woods today, your sure of a big surprise!

Birds are returning to Ontario's backyards, wetlands and forests! They may stay to breed or just stop over as they travel to other parts of Ontario and Canada.

Try this Scavenger Hunt next time you head outside! Not all these birds are migratory birds though so as to ease in a few new species at a time and not all at once!

Have you noticed any new birds to your neighbourhood?
