YES, I HAVE A SMALL PLANNING FEE — SO WHAT DOES THAT ACTUALLY GET YOU?

When you book your vacation with me, you’re not just paying someone to click “book.”

My planning fee includes the time, research and experience that goes into planning and booking your trip — but it also includes everything that comes before, during and after you travel.

I research and plan your vacation, take care of the bookings, manage payment plans, help arrange travel insurance, pre-book activities and excursions, answer your questions and make sure you know what you need before you leave.

Plans change? If you need to cancel, I handle it for you. You don’t have to sit on hold with a 1-800 number for hours.

Something goes wrong while you’re travelling and you’re not sure what to do? Call me. I’m here to help.

Have a question or concern? Call me. When you call my business, you get ME — not a random person at a call centre who has never spoken to you before.

From the first “Where should we go?” to the day you arrive back home, I’m in your corner.

Is that worth my small planning fee? I think so.

You can book a trip almost anywhere these days. What you’re paying me for is the service, support and peace of mind that comes with having a real person looking after your vacation.

DON’T BE DUMB — BUY THE TRAVEL INSURANCE.

I say it all the time: travel insurance is one of the best investments you can make when you travel. I would NEVER leave home without it.

Sarah-Dawn Thiessen Travel offers travel insurance to all of my clients, with coverage options that can include:

Here’s the thing — nobody books a vacation expecting to get sick, have an accident, need to cancel, or end up at a hospital in another country. But it happens.

Medical care outside Canada can be incredibly expensive, and a serious illness, accident, hospital stay or emergency evacuation can potentially cost tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Emergency medical insurance does NOT cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to buy.
