Karen's next port of call was Athens, where unfortunately her itinerary with Virgin Voyages came to an end. After disembarking she hit the ground running to explore the area. Following a day filled with countless steps, shopping and delicious local food, she embarked on one final excursion-a sunset tour of Cape Sounion.
The views were spectacular as she traveled along the coastline toward the ancient archeological site of the Temple of Poseidon. Watching the sunset over the Aegean Sea was the perfect way to end not only the day, but also her unforgettable Mediterranean vacation.

After another relaxing day at sea , Karen's next port of call was the island of Mykonos in Greece. This charming fishing village was filled with wonderful restaurants offering the fresh catch of the day. Karen enjoyed getting lost along the winding white pathways as she explored the village,visited the shops of local artisans, and supported the local economy along the way.

Karen's next port of call brought her to Catania Italy "the toe area of the boot". From the ship it was impossible to miss the magnificent Mount Etna. Karen was awestruck by stunning landscapes and seaside villages along the way to Taormina. She was excited to visit this area as she is a big fan of White Lotus, whose second season was filled there. She explored the town, wandered around the charming streets, enjoyed the local restaurants and naturally bought more shoes. From the top of the mountain she took in panoramic views of the landscape, the sea and the breathtaking Mount Etna.

Karen's second port of call on her Mediterranean cruise was Salerno Italy where she boarded a bus and explored the beautiful towns of Sorrento, Postiano, and Ravello while taking in the breathtaking scenery of the Amalfi Coast. She enjoyed shopping, sightseeing and soaking in the charm of the coastal villages along the way.

After enjoying a relaxing day at sea, Karen arrived at her first port of call after Barcelona -Rome. While there, she explored the city taking in iconic sites including the Trevi Fountain, Panthenon, Piazza Navona, Castel Sant'Angelo,and the Spanish Steps-along with a few shoe stores , of course.
