Summer Food Fishery Extended to Full Weeks in Much of NL

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans is extending the food fishery in some parts of Newfoundland and Labrador.
DFO states that the food fishery will be extended to seven days a week, in most areas, from Canada Day to Labour Day which includes the Avalon Peninsula, and northeast coast of Trinity Bay.
The fall food fishery will be from September 19 to September 27.
The daily bag limit will stay at 5 groundfish per person in all areas, however the 15-fish per boat limit has been eliminated.
