How you enter Europe is changing.

Beginning in the last quarter of 2026, Canadians and other visa-exempt travellers will need to obtain an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) approval before travelling to 30 European countries.

This morning, I spent some time learning about the upcoming requirements, application process, and what travellers can expect once ETIAS is implemented.

While an official launch date has not yet been announced, I’ll continue to stay informed and monitor updates so you don’t have to. My goal is to help ensure your European adventures remain as smooth, seamless, and stress-free as possible.

It’s just one of the many ways working with a travel advisor adds value to your vacation planning—keeping up with changing entry requirements, travel regulations, and the details that can impact your trip, so you can focus on the excitement of travel.

Sometimes you just need to pile the whole family in the car, grab everyone’s favourite Starbucks and head to Desert Hills.
Whether you visit the farm store, taco stand or both (the only option IMO) you’ll enjoy that fabulous Mexican hospitality in our own neck of the woods.
There’s so much to explore right here in BC and if you’re going to stop at any taco stands this summer, make it this one!

Iberostar Paraiso Maya Suites 🏝️☀️

Stay here to play at all four family resorts in Iberostar’s Paraiso complex.

What I loved about my stay here:

Pools - lazy river, wave pool, all ages water slides and the main pool. Visit the main pool, complete with a swim up bar for a high energy atmosphere. Sneak off to the lazy river or private building pool for more tranquility.
The main pool area at Waves and Beach is more chill, if you’d like the best of both worlds.
Access to the wave pool, lazy river and water park is limited to guests of Maya, Lindo and Joia.

Animals - roaming everywhere and so fun to spot them around the property and in the mangroves.

Spa - visit the hydrotherapy circuit (complimentary reservations for Maya guests) to relax. A perfect reset between sunset and dinner.

Staff - always friendly, smiling and keeping the energy up. Beach bingo, water Zumba and nightly entertainment are all better because of the employees.

Dining - By staying at Maya you can dine at all restaurants across the four resorts. The buffets were always fresh and full but the Mexican restaurant was my favourite. A bonus, there were many gluten free options here and they were always understanding and happy to accommodate.

Beach - The white sand and turquoise waters that you expect from the Cancun area can be found here. Beach chairs were plentiful. Just remember to grab your towels from the pool on your way.

On site shopping centre is great for souvenirs, beach wear and family entertainment - including live performances and a merry go round.

If you’re a golfer, this championship course is one of the best in Mexico and the Caribbean.

It’s a large resort, but it’s easy to catch a cart that takes you between buildings, resorts, golf, spa, the beach and shopping.

There’s something for everyone and Iberostar quality is evident here.

This one is for my clients visiting the parks this summer.
Sure, you’ve been walking extra and buying anything that has a mouse on it but here’s what’s really going to make your trip shine:

1. Hydrate before your trip. Start getting extra water, fruits and veggies at least a week before you travel. The heat, combined with all the steps and park snacks will dehydrate you quickly. Arrive hydrated and make sure you always have access to water.
2. Sun screen before you leave your room in the morning. Pack it in your LoungeFly and reapply every 2-3 hours. Hats and sunglasses are also important.
3. In Florida, you are almost guaranteed an afternoon storm. A poncho will keep you dry but the humidity will make it HOT. Pack one for everyone but finding AC during the storm will be the best relief.
4. HAVE FUN! Hug the characters, dance to the parades, cry at the fireworks, enjoy the park snacks and throw your arms up and scream when the ride hits just right!
