Gaspe Peninsula - Perce Rock - Reford Gardens
August 10th - August 14th
August 10 - We will begin our enjoyable summer holiday and leisurely travel to Northern New Brunswick for a delicious lunch at the popular Atlantic Host restaurant before continuing onto Campbellton for a photo opportunity of the “Worlds largest Salmon” plus a comfort stop at the very impressive Visitors Center located on the shores of Restigouche River. We will say farewell to New Brunswick as we cross J.C. Van Horne bridge and travel throughout scenic Matapedia Valley to our two night accommodation at the very impressive Riotel Matane Hotel 877-566-2651 located on the shores of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, giving you an evening to enjoy a gorgeous sunset and stroll the shores of the mighty St. Lawrence River.
August 11 - Following a delicious breakfast we will begin our day by visiting Gaspe’s Renowned Reford Gardens created by pioneering horticulturist Elsie Reford ,the Reford Gardens are a National Historic Site of Canada. Some 8000 species and varieties of plants, including the famous Himalayan Blue Poppy are spread over fifteen gardens. A delightful lunch will be enjoyed in St. Flavie’s Le Gaspesiana restaurant overlooking the St. Lawrence River, before visiting Marcel Gagnon Art Gallery featuring extraordinary craftsmanship. Before returning to our lovely hotel we will be guest at the Carpinteri Vineyards, A 19th century Italian style Vineyard, a one of a kind experience following our w**e tasting (optional) we will return to our hotel after a perfect Gaspe Peninsula day.
August 12 - Following another delicious breakfast we will begin to explore the very scenic Gaspe Peninsula experience having numerous scenic photo opportunities visiting historic light house, churches and other points of interest along the mighty Gulf of St. Lawrence towards our nights accommodation located in Gaspe City Hotel des Baker 418-368-3355.
August 13 - Following breakfast we will have the opportunity to see one of Canada’s icons “Perce Rock” - we will enjoy a cruise in the enclosed Captain Dorval II and we will sail around the splendid Perce Rock and neighboring Bonaventure Island, Where North America’s largest colony of Gannets show off for us. Before departing we will have the opportunity to enjoy the many unique shops in the Gaspe’s popular tourist destination. August 3 - With mixed feelings we will depart our charming hotel and travel along the North side of the mighty St. Lawrence River to Sainte Anne de Beaupre to visit North Americas oldest pilgrimage site “Basilica of Sainte Anne de Beaupre. Following our inspirational visit we will travel to Baie - Saint Paul - The Cultural capital of Charlevoix. The iconic town has one of the highest concentrations of artist per capita in Canada. Strolling along St. Jean Baptiste pedestrian only street you will be captivated by their extraordinary art galleries, gourmet restaurants, street artist, musicians and unique boutiques, In fact this is where it all began for Cirque du Soleil.

June 4 - With an early departure we will travel to St. Barb to catch our 10:30am Ferry crossing to Labrador!! Upon arrival to the BIG LAND we will journey throughout rugged country to Red Bay to visit Red Bay Historic Site dedicated to the 16th century Basque Whalers, plus a perfect location for another delicious Group Meal-at the unique Whalers restaurant and to witness Labrador’s hospitality. June 5 - This morning we will catch the 8 am ferry and return to Newfoundland. Our travels will take us to Port aux Choix - a picturesque seaport historical village - home of the Port au Choix National Historic Site - where exhibits indicate the crossroads of 6000 years of human history. Also the home of Point Riche Lighthouse, a “most always” perfect location to see caribous. Before departing this Historic region our charming Sea Echo hotel will offer another delicious Newfoundland meal.

June 7- Another exciting day awaits us as we travel along Iceberg Alley to picturesque Twillingate. Upon arrival we will visit the Durrell Museum and Crafts featuring Polar Bear and Auk Exhibits. A delightful lunch at the Anchor Inn Hotel ideally located on the shores of Twillingate Harbour will be enjoyed. Photo opportunities of Iceberg Alley at Long Point Lighthouse plus a visit to Auk Winery makes this a great way to end our Twillingate experience before travelling to our two nights destination Terra Nova Resort 709-543-2525.
June 8- We will experience another perfect Newfoundland day by exploring the Bonavista Peninsula. Just like John Cabot did in 1497! We will continue along the Trinity loop to Elliston, the “Root Cellar” Capital of the World. June 10- A fun day has been designed for you to travel to nearby picture perfect Burin! One of my favorite Newfoundland towns. We will welcome our delightful step on guide to enlighten us on the history and hardships of this rugged outport which was built along a series of high cliffs and sheltered coves! We will continue onward to visit St. Lawrence for our delicious lunch plus a visit to their very impressive museum which explains the devastation history and the once mined Fluorspar Mineral. Following our visit we will continue to explore the Bruin Peninsula often referred to as The Boot!! June 11- Saying farewell to the Barren Land of Bruin Peninsula we will journey to Newfoundland’s Capital - Our home for two nights at the very impressive St. John’s Hilton Garden Inn 709-383-1310. We will become familiar to the Avalon Peninsula by travelling to nearby Bay Bulls for our very exciting Whale Watching and Puffin Excursion to be followed by visiting Canada’s easternmost point Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site.
June 12- This morning we will become acquainted with St. John’s as we welcome our very informative City Tour guide. We will visit iconic highlights at Signal Hill, Quidi Vidi plus much more - A free afternoon will be yours to enjoy downtown Water St., and the famous George St before our Screech In Ceremony and Kitchen Party.
June 13 - Departing Newfoundland Historic Capital we will visit two very picturesque and interesting seaports towns - Brigus - the home of Rock Solid Builds plus their own beautiful cozy café Vindicator Press which will welcome us to a delicious lunch before visiting another colorful town nested on the shores of Trinity Bay“ Dildo“. This little town received a lot of attention since ABC’s late night show host Jimmy Kimmel’s staff visited and placed Hollywood “Dildo Sign” on the Mountain Side. We will begin to travel west to our overnights accommodations in Grand Falls Windsor Mount Peyton’s Resort & Conference Center 709-489-2251. A great location for a delicious meal and more Newfoundland Music!

March 20 - Join Nancy’s Tours to picturesque PEI to attend Winter Bluegrass Festival sponsored by PEI Bluegrass Old Time Music Society. A weekend you don’t want to miss! The PEI winter Bluegrass Festival celebrating over 80 years of bluegrass music will pay tribute to the genre’s roots, from Bill Monroe’s landmark 1945 appearance on Grand Ole Opry stage to Bluegrass’s influence on contemporary music. Throughout the weekend we will enjoy performances that highlight the history and the evolution of music.
The Tim O’Brien Band will be anchoring a stellar lineup including - Old man Luedecke, Blue Meadow, The Janet McGarry Band, Shane Pendergast Trio, Bluegrass Tradition, The McMillan’s, Camp Boys, The Stiff Family Band to mention a few multi talented artist.
Upon arrival at the luxuries Delta Hotel located on Charlottetown waterfront we will be greeted and welcomed by aBluegrass Ambassador to es**rt us to the main stage for an afternoon of musical stage performances plus workshops leading us to an evening of first class Bluegrass jam sessions.
