We know all this stuff happening in Jalisco, Mexico that you are reading and watching is scary! It definitely makes you re-think travelling to that area and Mexico in general.
Something to keep in mind. If you purchased a supplier insurance such as option flex, worry-free, care flex etc. you have the option to cancel your trip for a credit, or change destination at current pricing. If you don't have this insurance but have purchased insurance for cancellation/interruption you are covered to cancel for refund if you are travelling to an orange advisory area. Keep in mind Mexico has been a yellow advisory for quite some time when you look at this map. This map is from the Canadian Government website which is what tour operators and airlines use as their guide.
If you are travelling to the Mayan Riviera, Cancun, Cozumel, Playa Mujeres or anywhere on that side you are quite a distance from Jalisco (approximately 2000 kms). This part of Mexico is still a yellow advisory.
We are monitoring the situation and we will keep you updated on anything happening that may effect your trip. This is a very fluid situation right now and so far we only have updates on this week. Hopefully there aren't a lot more disruptions, but at this point we don't have information for the future.
If you have questions about your trip please don't hesitate to reach out to your travel agent.
Hoping everyone in Jalisco area is staying safe ❤
