My walking tours are over for the season. I would like to thank all the folks who came my way and done the walking tours.I can safely say the tour was enjoyed by all and I look forward to next Spring for I will be resuming my walking tours once again and look forward to meeting each and everyone one of you who come my way. I wish you happy holidays and have a good and safe winter. The pictures show the colours of Oliver’s Cove in late fall . Also I host a kitchen party every Thursday evening from June to September at the Tilting Heritage Centre and all are welcome and guaranteed a good time

My favourite picture taken on my walking tour this Spring in Tilting , Fogo Island was this giant iceberg towering over Pigeon Island . It was a special treat for the folks on the tour who had never seen an iceberg before.

Spring has once again opened up the great walking trails on Fogo Islandincluding the Oliver’s Cove Trail here in Tilting. From now until mid fall I will be doing my walking tour. You are sure to enjoy the great views along the trail while you take in the local history, the cultural landscape, the stories, folklore, and the music and singing in the shed to end the tour. If you are here on Thursday evening I host a singing session / kitchen party from 7:30-9:30 at the Tilting Heritage Centre. Here are a few pictures I took along the trail a day or two ago. Icebergs are drifting by our shores now and let’s hope they keep coming our way fo another two months or so. The winds and the tides will decide that. The time has come around once again where my walking tour is sort of done for this season. It has been a great and busy and enjoyable year for Al’s walking tour with people joining the tour from right across the country, from the U. S. and to Europe and beyond. I can say without any doubt from what I observed and heard that the tour was enjoyed by all. Combine breathtaking scenery, the cultural landscape, the ocean always present, the local history, the stories and the singing and music in the shed as the end of the tour was much enjoyed. As next Spring chases away winter I will be resuming my walking tour once again .The yellow building you see in the picture which is the Tilting Heritage Building is where we meet for the tour. It is a recently renovated and beautiful building and we are very proud of it. I will add as well that every Thursday evening during the summer I host a music session/ kitchen party there with lots of music , singing, and story telling which always made for a very enjoyable evening. Thanks to all the folks who done the tour and attended the kitchen parties and hope we see many more next year. Have a safe and healthy winter to all.

Winter Solsticeis just around the corner, the hiking trails are silent now and the many visitors that came our way this season enjoyed what we had to offer and left with good memories of our province and for sure Fogo Island. I would like to thank all those who done my walking tour and I feel confident when I say the tour was enjoyed by all. I hope that 2024 will be good to you all and your travels will once again be safe and enjoyable.

Going to share a few images from the many taken along the tour. Folks were captivated by the many icebergs that graced our shores over the past spring and summer. Then there was the lady who took my guitar and impromptu fashion sang of some of the memories she enjoyed on the tour. I look forward come Spring to once again resume my walking tour for all who wish to join. I might add I host a music session every Thursday night (kitchen party style) during the tourist season and always enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.

I am planning on having a weekly music sessions(kitchen party at the Tilting Heritage Centre starting Thursday April 13 of next week.
It will happen on everyThursday night from 7:30 to 9:30. Everybody is welcome and if you play sand sing or a stoty teller so much the better.
