Let’s Talk About Resort Credits

You booked an all-inclusive vacation and the package says it includes $500 in resort credit. Amazing, right? Well… sort of.

Here’s what most people don’t realize:

That “$500 credit” is usually split into small, restricted chunks - like $50 for the spa, $100 for a romantic dinner, $30 for the gift shop, etc.

It often comes with minimum spends. For example, to use that $50 spa credit, you might have to book a treatment that costs $200 or more.

Resort credit can’t usually be used for tips, excursions, upgraded alcohol, or room upgrades.

Some resorts frame it like a perk, but it’s more like a discount coupon with rules.

It’s not that resort credit is a scam, it can be useful! But it’s important to understand it’s not free money you can spend however you want.
