After a chilly and delayed start to the year, we are now open for the 2025 season. Join us for one of our highly rated Shipwrecks, Flowerpots and Grottos Cruises, or plan that special occasion or get-together on one of our Private Tour options, featuring our two completely different boats.
This happy group joined us today for the very first tour of the season. We were all treated to absolutely lovely lake conditions, though the open stretches still require a warm sweater.
We had another first today- Our very first Kitty Wave Adventurer! Named Nieve (Spanish for snow), our feline friend was absolutely delighted to be going on a boat ride, as you can see from her joyous expression. 😄

Due to temperatures that were warmer than usual, these adventurers headed out on the lake with their hats, gloves and winter coats packed for the first Wave II Shipwrecks, Flowerpots and Grottos tour of the 2024 season. On May 26th, this was a full two weeks earlier than usual.
Our extended 2 hour and 20 minute tours visit the three most iconic places in our National Parks as well as over 35 kilometers of spectacular Georgian Bay shoreline. These highly rated tours are presently running most days and will be available everyday after next week.
We also offer private tours for groups of up to 12 and also 12 to 34. If you have a large group of people it is actually cheaper to go private, but keep in mind that you need to book well in advance.
Tickets are available online or by phone and you can make private tour inquiries through our website ... www.tobermorywave.com See you out on the water!

The last scheduled Shipwrecks, Grottos and Flowerpots Tour of 2022 took place on Saturday September 24th, with very calm seas and only a sprinkle of rain.
The staff of Tobermory Wave Adventures would like to thank everyone who ventured out into Fathom Five National Marine Park with us this year and made it such a pleasure. We hope to see you all again next year.
We will be open until Thanksgiving for private tours and charters.
Wishing you all a fantastic Fall.

Willow would like to share a little about the Sea bin project she has been working on this summer in cooperation with her fellow staff at Tobermory Wave Adventures and the Sources of Knowledge Forum in Tobermory.
What is a Sea bin? They are basically floating trash bins that pump water through a removable catch bag and collect debris and pollutants in our waterways. Up to 1.4 tons of this floating debris can be collected by one Sea bin per summer.
This afternoon, Willow helped to empty the contents of the Sea Bin located by the Nor'Light in Little Tub Harbour. The contents were weighed, sorted and the data logged and entered into our Sea bin app.
The collection today showed approximately 50% organic matter and an equal amount of garbage, including plastic cutlery, candy wrappers, part of a foam coffee cup and a large number of cigarette butts.
To find out more about Sea bins, plastics in our oceans and how you can help, Willow would like to invite everyone to the next "Deep Dive" which is an eye opening demonstration on how these bins work and what ends up in our waterways.
The next Deep Dive will be held this Saturday August 6th at 11:00 a.m at the Sea bin located in front of the Tobermory Wave Adventures dock, near Craigie's Restaurant, Tobermory.

Always the safe boater, Willow wants to remind those out on Georgian Bay, that even though the days are getting warmer, the water temperatures are still very cold. If you are out in a small vessel such as a kayak, you should always wear a life jacket, paddle close to shore and check the local wind conditions before heading out. Let someone on shore know where you are going and when you expect to return.
Full immersion into the cold water can cause a condition called cold water shock which will rapidly incapacitate you. Blood vessels in the skin will constrict causing your heart to work harder. Muscles can spasm, blood pressure climbs and heart attacks can occur, even in young healthy people.
So heed Willows' safety tips and stay safe on the water, to paddle here in Georgian Bay another day.
