There's something ancient about being held by the earth like this 🌊

Hot Springs Cove isn't just a destination - it's a reminder that we belong to this place. Geothermal pools carved into the rocks where the forest meets the ocean. Water warmed by the earth itself, waves crashing just beyond the stones.

The 2km walk through old-growth forest gets you there. The springs bring you home to something deeper.

Our guides know these waters, these trails, this land. They'll get you there safely and help you understand what makes this place so sacred.

All connected. All one.

Some moments don't need words 🐻

Watching a black bear forage along the shoreline, completely at ease, is the kind of encounter that reconnects you with something we're often separated from. A reminder that we're all part of the same story - the forest, the ocean, the bears, us. All connected. All one.

Our guides know how to read the tides, the salmon runs, and the subtle signs that tell us where the bears are feeding. We approach with respect, keep our distance, and let the bears do what they do best: just being bears.

This is their home. And in moments like these, it feels like ours too.

"The whales know when someone is watching with a good heart" - Captain Richard

Our Indigenous captains don't just know where to find the whales. They know how to read the water, respect the wildlife, and share the stories that have been passed down through generations.

Every tour is a reminder that we're guests in their home - and what a privilege that is 🐋

The path to paradise winds through old-growth forest 🌲

This 2km boardwalk through Ahousaht haḥuułii (territorial lands, waters and culture) is as much a part of the Hot Springs Cove experience as the springs themselves.

Towering cedars, hemlock, and Sitka spruce create a living cathedral overhead as you make your way to the geothermal pools at land's end.

The journey there? Just as unforgettable as the destination.

They wade into the shallows. They flip rocks to find food. They ignore the boat. And the crows — they follow the bears for scraps, waiting nearby.

Our guides know the inlets where bears come to feed and know how to get close enough for a stunning view while keeping a respectful distance.

Every sighting is different. 🐻🌊

"The way I like to present my tours is to share a little bit about our People, the way we're living in the past, when the only transport was dugout canoes."

Captain Richard Thomas carries a drum made for him by his daughter out on every tour. His grandfather was Peter Samson Webster — Ahousaht Elder and linguist.

Every season he learns more: gray whale identification, Nuu-chah-nulth language, the sacred place names of haḥuułii.

These aren't just wildlife tours. They're living cultural experiences. 🥁
