It just never disappoints. August is the Mecca for sport fishing on the west coast of Vancouver Island for a reason!
We welcomed back some repeats who understand just how fun this month truly is. The “Hogust” Chinook run was a wild one this year, alongside a massive return of big coho that kept us busy all month long.
The tuna water didn’t quite shape up the way we hoped, but we did manage to sneak out for one memorable day at 55 miles.
With inshore coho still around in big numbers and warmer water close by giving us a shot at tuna, we’re looking forward to whatever September throws at us.
Hard to believe summer’s already winding down, but we’re definitely not done yet.
