I like to use the Labour Day weekend to do some reflecting. You see this weekend marks 90 days till our 15th year in business and I like to take this weekend to do deep planning on how we will attack the new (fiscal) year. You can't look forward without looking back a little, and this was one of the most incredible and bittersweet years in our company's history.
Creatively, this past year has been nothing short of incredible for us at The Idea Integration Co. Our creative engines were firing on all cylinders, churning out some of the best work in our company's history. It's been a year where we truly unleashed our creative ideas onto the world, and the results were nothing short of spectacular for our clients.
We proudly accomplished not one, not two, but five boot camps with our most recent one just a few weeks ago with an incredible group of people at WindsorONE. We also tackled two super-secret projects under NDA for products you probably use daily. These projects were done behind the scenes (for the actual AOR's), and we couldn't be prouder. Our team's dedication and passion shone through in every joke, pixel, word, and brushstroke of these projects. Honestly, it is weird not to be able to take credit for them because they are very "us." So much that a friend emailed me to say someone was ripping off our style :)
But, as the saying goes, life's a rollercoaster, and this year had bittersweet moments. For the first time in 15 years, we faced a challenge we never expected or had encountered before. We had clients default on approximately $100,000 owed to us. It was a tough pill to swallow, and it stung, and it hurt, and it still does. However, I'm incredibly proud of our team's resilience and our commitment to our values. We ensured that our fantastic staff got paid, and the same with contractors and vendors a little slower than usual, but everyone was made whole. The only one who didn't get paid was yours truly (say goodbye to my bar mitzvah money), but that's the price you sometimes pay when you're committed to doing right by your people.
Looking ahead to our 15th year in the business, we're close to closing a few projects we are really passionate about and hope these come to reality.
We don't know the meaning of "stop," and we're determined to make this year our best yet because this is all we know to do. However, a little bit of luck wouldn't hurt...and if you have a project, reach out!
So, here's to creativity, resilience, and the amazing journey ahead. We're ready to tackle new challenges, create jaw-dropping campaigns, and maybe, just maybe, catch a break. :)
Stay tuned for more awesomeness from The Idea Integration Co.
