FOUR DREAMS - 7 CITIES- ONE UNFORGETTABLE ITALIAN SUMMER!
What would it look like if your family trip was built entirely around what your kids love most? That's exactly the question we decided to answer this summer. 🇮🇹
Our daughters were accepted into two prestigious performance programs in Italy. Cosette was headed to an opera program, and Zoë to a dance intensive with choreographer Johan Inger. We had every reason to just send them off and wait at home. Instead, we built an entire family adventure around them, seven cities, countless trains and buses, and more memories than I know what to do with.
Here's the moment I keep coming back to.
One afternoon in Florence, we were wandering near Galileo's house and decided to hike up the hill on a whim. We kept walking, mostly because the day was beautiful and we weren't ready to stop. That's when we stumbled onto Forte di Belvedere, a fortress we hadn't planned to visit and honestly hadn't even heard of. There was a sweet little terrace at the top, so we ordered drinks, pulled out a deck of Florence playing cards we had just bought that same day, and played cards with all of Florence spread out below us. The Dome rising above the rooftops. The whole city just sitting there, golden in the afternoon light. We hadn't planned a single second of it. Maybe that's exactly why it felt so perfect. 🃏
Then there were the moments I'll never stop being grateful for. Turning a corner in Rome and suddenly, there was the Colosseum at the end of the street, massive and ancient and glowing in the evening light. Just jaw-dropping. What a dream. Walking to it night after night from our hotel, like it was the most normal thing in the world, never got old.
And watching my daughters perform. Cosette in opera, Zoë in dance, doing what they love in places they had only dreamed about, surrounded by artists from around the world. Those moments were full of magic. That's the only word for it. ✨
None of this would have come together without Kim Greco. Between two performance schedules, seven cities, and more logistics than I want to think about, having her in our corner made all the difference. The hotels she chose were perfect, the planning kept us sane, and we got to focus on being present for every single moment. If you're dreaming about a trip like this, reach out to Kim. She made this trip truly unforgettable.
Now we're already looking at Ireland, Greece, Japan, and definitely back to Italy. The world feels bigger than it ever has, and we are so ready for it. 🌍
