POLIMEX HUMANITARIAN EFFORTS AWARDED IN THAILAND AND CANADA
We are proud to share that Polimex has been recognized with two awards for its humanitarian work supporting flood victims in in 2024:
• Special Recognition Award – presented by the Combined Logistics Network (CLN) during its 22nd Annual Partnership Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand
• Excellence in Charitable Initiatives – 2025 Award – presented by the Canada-Poland Chamber of Commerce - at its annual Excellence Awards Gala.
The 2024 floods in Poland caused widespread damage, displaced thousands of people and tragically claimed several lives. Polish towns like Kłodzko, Lewin Brzeski, Lądek Zdrój and Strunie Slaskie were left in ruins. People lost their homes, businesses, personal belongings and necessities. In cooperation with Musket Transport, 9 Polish Parishes and countless good-hearted people collected 20.000 kilograms – 2 full containers worth of goods that was shipped to Poland by Polimex. With the help of Alfa Agencja Celna, Alfa Forwarding goods were distributed by charity organizations Lions Club Gdańsk-1-1and Fundacja Kubek Wody to those in need.
The CLN conference—organized in collaboration with NorthStar Forwarders Alliance and Magenta Logistics Network—brought together over 300 freight forwarders from more than 60 countries. Polimex was recognized “for their compassionate initiative to support flood victims in Poland.” Representing Polimex were Vice President Kris Manitius and Director of Sales Geraldine Gribbons.
Polimex was also honored with the Excellence in Charitable Initiatives – 2025 of the Year Award by the Canada-Poland Chamber of Commerce - CPCC. The awards ceremony recognized outstanding achievements across nine categories, followed by dinner and remarks from selected honorees'. Polimex was once again acknowledged for its commitment to disaster relief and support for the people of Poland. The Excellence Awards Gala has a long-standing tradition of bringing together the Polish-Canadian community and fostering collaboration and the exchange of ideas. In addition to celebrating business excellence, the event served as a platform to strengthen relationships across the broader international and European business communities. Distinguished guests included Ontario Premier Doug Ford, Minister of Infrastructure Kinga Surma, Minister of Long-Term Care Natalia Kusendova-Bashta, Ontario Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie, Polish Ambassador to Canada Witold Dzielski, and Consul Piotr Frelak.
Kris Manitius said that as a Canadian shipping company with Polish roots is deeply connected to Europe: “We, at Polimex, feel it is very important to give back to our community and honor our society by connecting us here in Canada to those who are back in Poland and are in need” – he commented.
