Guess the Landmark! 🐄✨
This unexpected urban scene features a herd of bronze cows lounging in the middle of the Financial District. Installed in 1985, this whimsical public art piece was created by artist Joe Fafard to reflect on the contrast between nature and urban life.

Can you name this peaceful patch of prairie in the middle of downtown Toronto? 👀

Then and Now: Toronto’s Flatiron Building

One of Toronto’s most iconic landmarks, the Gooderham Building—commonly known as the Flatiron Building—was completed in 1892 as the headquarters for the Gooderham & Worts distillery business. Designed by architect David Roberts Jr., this red-brick beauty predates New York City’s more famous Flatiron Building by a full decade!

With its distinctive wedge shape and mural-covered back wall, it’s been a favorite among photographers and history lovers alike. Today, the Flatiron Building is home to private offices, continuing its legacy as a hub of commerce in the heart of Old Toronto.

🚴‍♂️ Cycling Safety Tip
Always wear a helmet—even on short rides!

Your helmet is your best defense against head injuries. Make sure it fits snugly, sits level on your head, and the straps are properly adjusted. Safety first = fun always!

Wearing the right size helmet is key. It should fit snugly without being uncomfortable—if it rocks back and forth or side to side, it's too big. A properly fitted helmet will sit about two fingers’ width above your eyebrows, and the side straps should form a “Y” shape just below your ears. When you buckle up, only one or two fingers should fit between your chin and the strap.

Whether you're cruising downtown or riding the Islands, don’t forget your lid! 🧠

One of our guests’ favorite stops, St. Lawrence Market is one of the most iconic and historic public markets in Toronto. It was first established in 1803, with the first permanent market buildings constructed around 1820.
We're thrilled that the newly rebuilt North Market building is now open to the public after years of redevelopment! Whether you're into local food, history, or just soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, it's a must-visit spot on our tours.

Then and Now: The University of Toronto
On February 14, 1890, a devastating fire broke out at University College, the founding college of the University of Toronto. The blaze destroyed the entire eastern wing and over 33,000 volumes in the college library. Despite this tragedy, the university community rallied together. Within two years, the building was restored, and the library was replenished with donations from institutions across the British Empire.

Today, University College stands as a testament to resilience and renewal. Its halls continue to inspire students and visitors alike, reflecting both the rich history and the ever-evolving spirit of the University of Toronto.
