Important Update for Employers! New LMIA Advertising Rules Are Here.
Effective September 8, 2025, there is a major change to the LMIA process for Employers. To ensure fairness and transparency, hiring a foreign worker now Requires using the Job Bank's mandatory "Direct Apply" feature.
Key changes you need to know:
βοΈ All LMIA-based job postings must be placed using the "Direct Apply" Function on Canada's National Job Bank.
βοΈ Employers must accept applications through this feature.
βοΈ You must still provide at least two other application methods (e.g., your company website).
βοΈ The goal is to ensure Canadians and permanent residents get a fair chance At job opportunities.
Exemptions apply for specific roles like in-home caregivers and camp Counsellors.
