There’s been a lot of news lately about jet fuel shortages in Europe and rising airline fuel costs, so many families are asking us if they should be worried about their vacation flights to the Caribbean, Europe and beyond. ✈️

At this time, the risk to Canadian travellers remains LOW.

While airlines are facing higher fuel prices and some supply pressure in Europe, Canada is not facing jet fuel shortages.
Major carriers like , and international carriers are continuing to prioritize their most important international routes — especially popular and profitable vacation destinations in the Caribbean, Europe and beyond.

What travellers MAY notice:
✔️ Higher airfare prices
✔️ Fewer flight sales
✔️ Some schedule changes or reduced frequencies

Whether you're celebrating a milestone birthday, anniversary, or just looking to relax and reconnect, should be top of mind. This adults-only resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico, is a fabulous option known for its incredible food and mixology program with specialty cocktails and a great wine selection. It did not disappoint on our recent visit - the food was amazing! The menus offer a lot of choice, including gluten-free and vegan options. The luxurious rooms, with king or two queen beds, are ideal for couples and friends looking to get away. Resort credit can be used towards golf at the nearby course or the spa. I was thoroughly impressed and can't wait to return for a longer stay!

Direct service to the Canary Islands is a new route with Air Canada for winter 2026/27.

This is the only non-stop service from North America to Tenerife in the Canary Islands, departing from Toronto and Montreal. These volcanic islands are referred to as the Hawaii of Europe for their stunning terrain and dramatic landscapes. What an adventure we had in Cartagena, Colombia! This beautiful Spanish Colonial city is location on the Caribbean coast of South America. The city is very well kept with most of the traditional architecture intact. The new town is the opposite, mostly sky scrapers set along sandy beaches, shopping, and dining and only a 10min drive down the road. The Castillo is a fortress which protected the city and harbour from invasion, is well worth a visit - the views are outstanding!
