Amazing time at the new TOKI Listening Bar () - A truly unique experience for Toronto whisky cocktail options.

It is an immersive space that has been inspired by Japanese music culture and design, with well-crafted whisky-forward cocktails to complement the experience.

You can never go wrong with a 'perfect highball', and Toki Listening Bar provides a great atmosphere for enjoying one.

The 13 year old Glenturret from Cadenhead's made an excellent whisky for camping along Georgian Bay.

Great mix of pears, light peat, malt and vanilla. The cask strength stood up well to the cool evening.

Does anyone have a favourite whisky to take camping?

Had an incredible visit to Cotes des Saints distillery, not only getting a tour of their production and warehouse, but also a massive tasting of both commercial releases and upcoming/experimental casks. These pics are just the tip of the iceberg - check out our latest post on our website (link in bio) for the full writeup and notes on each.
I bought the cask strength oloroso single cask, and joined their club for advance notice of new releases. Most looking forward to the ex-rye and ex-amaro casks that I got to preview!
Incredible distillery with a better-than-zero environmental footprint, and fantastic malts to boot. Check them out, because they're going to be a mainstay in Canadian single malts for decades to come.

Feeling lucky? St. Patrick's Day is here and that calls for an Irish whiskey!

This Irish whiskey is a Canadian exclusive from and is a crazy combination of sherry influences. Portions of three were chosen (Oloroso, PX, Amontillado) and then married together in a Spinola Bodega PX cask.

It's hard to believe we are celebrating 10 years already! 2016 feels like a lifetime ago for many of us, both in TWS and in the world generally. We've been through a lot, but only grown stronger through it all.
This year we are celebrating with an incredible event lineup, multiple anniversary vintage bottlings and more!
Cheers the last 10, and here's to the next 10 too!

Missing from our world tour was anything from Tasmania/Aus. Sadly we get so little of it here in Canada, it's tough to come by. I thin we will have to connect with Tas some distilleries or Aussie whisky folks to set up a tasting sometime...

Raise a dram this snowy Burns Night (and day), with a whisky worthy of the bard himself.

This cold and snowy weather calls for big peat, and the 14 year peated Glen Scotia with Barolo cask finish was perfect for today.

Big bold fruit, earthy and peat notes, pairs perfectly with the third time shoveling today.
