“Programs like Engineer in Residence are essential in exposing students - specially young females - to engineering concepts early on. This builds their confidence and curiosity, and increases the likelihood they’ll pursue physics and other STEM subjects in high school and beyond.”
– Grade 12 Physics Teacher, Orangeville

Thanks to a generous $15,000 grant from the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation, we’re expanding our Engineer in Residence program to reach even more students across the GTHA - especially in smaller and underserved communities.

This funding will support classroom visits, activity supplies, and training for new volunteer engineers who will serve as mentors and role models to help students see what’s possible.

Together, we're building a more inclusive, equitable future in STEM.

Thank you and ! 💜

Calling all Teachers 📣

Only a few days left to register for the 2024 Future City Experience!!

FCE is a design challenge for students in grades 6-8! This year, students are tasked with designing a city adapted to the challenges of using the engineering design process. The program begins with a live Q&A event on January 31st, where participants can engage with engineers and scientists specializing in climate change. These experts will provide valuable insights and tips for creating innovative cities.

🤫 PS.....it's free!

Join thousands of students across Canada for this national program!

Registration is now open for educators to sign up for the 2024 Future City Experience: Climate Change! https://bit.ly/48L0lh5

The Future City Experience is designed to introduce students to engineering in a fun and engaging way with support from engineering mentors. It is entirely virtual and can be adapted to in-class or online learning models.

Students are asked to use the engineering design process to imagine, research, design, and build a futuristic city that is adapted to the impacts of climate change using engineering solutions.

They will submit photos and brief descriptions of the various aspects of their climate adapted city while presenting live via Zoom to a panel of engineers who will provide them with feedback on their design at the Future City Experience Showcase in May 2024.

The registration deadline is January 28, 2024. Join the fun today! https://bit.ly/4b8Wvjx
