Sakura Watch - May 8, 2026 - Some areas in Peak Bloom; other areas are seeing petals fall in High Park as mixed weather continues to affect the bloom overall this year. The trees in the Grenadier Pond, Zoo, and Playground areas are in Peak Bloom and showing 90-100% of their blossoms open. The other areas of the park have already begun to see petals falling, and stormy weather will only accelerate their fall. How much will depend on the amount of wind and rain. I wish you all a Happy Mother's Day weekend! More details - https://www.sakurainhighpark.com/blog/2026/5/8/sakura-watch-may-8-2026

Sakura Watch - May 1, 2026 - Cherry Blossom 🌸 trees by the Jamie Bell Adventure Playground and High Park Zoo are very far behind. Most trees are still stuck in Stage 4 & 5! The few trees that are starting to show are less than 15% of open blossoms. These need at least 3-4 days of nice, warm, sunny weather before they will open more. FUN FACT - this part of the park is ALWAYS last to bloom.
