Sakura Watch - May 8, 2026 - Some areas in Peak Bloom; other areas are seeing petals fall in High Park as mixed weather continues to affect the bloom overall this year. The trees in the Grenadier Pond, Zoo, and Playground areas are in Peak Bloom and showing 90-100% of their blossoms open. The other areas of the park have already begun to see petals falling, and stormy weather will only accelerate their fall. How much will depend on the amount of wind and rain. I wish you all a Happy Mother's Day weekend! More details - https://www.sakurainhighpark.com/blog/2026/5/8/sakura-watch-may-8-2026

Sakura Watch April 28, 2026 - the Full Bloom has finally begun as some trees in High Park are showing more then 70% of open blossoms. But the cold, cloudy weather are slowing many of the other trees. With sun on the way, we should see the Peak Bloom start this Friday May 1st! For more details see link in bio.

Sakura Watch May 10, 2025 - Ep 10 - Last chance to see sakura cherry blossoms before they all fall throughout High Park. I visit one final time to see what is left to enjoy this Mother's Day weekend, and overall the trees are mostly bare with cluster of blossoms and branches scattered. Trees by the pond and zoo are the best ones to view as they still have a good amount of blossoms left to see.

Sakura Watch May 6, 2025 - After a peak bloom weekend, the sakura cherry blossom petals are starting to fall in High Park. Peak Bloom continues by Grenadier Pond and by the Zoo and Playground areas so there is still time this week to enjoy the blooms, but they will likely fall by Mother’s Day weekend. I stand by my original prediction of Peak Bloom ending by May 9. After this, only small groupings of blossoms will remain.
