Treat of a day today, sneaking out to while visiting some clients in Calgary. First visit in 18 years and it’s as good as I remember. Helped that we had a perfect day and even had some interesting spectators while playing the iconic 15th (original 1st), which inspired me to birdie the hole!

Time to go home! A great tour in Portugal for Ron with world class golf (including the soon to open Comporta Torre and Pinheirinho), beautiful accommodations, the freshest of seafood and wonderful wines. A golf destination every serious golfer, and enjoyer of life, should visit - give us a call you get your visit set up.

So many posts to come from an amazing trip to Portugal with 6 other travel agents to explore new and exciting offerings (and a few old favorites) but let’s start with the@most unique at JNcQUIO Lisbon and their unique FOO FOO dinner experience. Full Asian tasting menu (so good) plus a fabulous show right on Avenida de Liberdade. Unique as Ron says but wow - WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!!!

As Ron made his way back (eventually) from Spain and Portugal, Lori and TJ made their way over to Scotland. It’s Lori’s first visit to Scotland and she has been brave enough to try some new foods including haggis! The weather has been incredible (why isn’t everyone coming here in April?) and we have had some great visits with hotel partners over the past two days. Time for a visit to St Andrews with the family, can’t wait to play golf in St Andrews with my dad and son.

Last day in Spain and after a wine tasting with a group of Golf Away Tours travelers last night Boutique Hotel, a tour of the beautiful new Fairmont hotel and a round @ LaHaciendaHeathlandcourse (first time, really fun course and will get even better with planned renovations). last night is a stay in Marbella (right beside old town, a great new option we will be offering) and a last dinner in Puente Romano and then a long layover in Lisbon to more before finally home

Wonderful round at Dumbarnie, the newest addition to the links family in the St Andrews area. A client favourite and great test of golf blessed with amazing views, it should be on everyone’s must play list (it was on mine until I finally got to play it today)

I made a quick stop at the Wee Chippie, multiple time winner of best fish and chips in Scotland (and it was great) before trying out the 9 Hole gem Anstruther Golf. Fun course that is a fine way to get the feel for links turf on arrival day and boast the hardest par 3 in Scotland and some really fun shots. A full day and as a bonus, I won in the 24 hour Ballot and have a 7:20am tee time on the Old Course tomorrow - what a day!!

An “Old World” golf experience at Hickory Smoked Golf where you can not only try hickory clubs but also learn golf history and leave with your own hickory club (built by you), a gutta perchy ball (made by you) but also memories of a trip to the home of golf!!

Some rain, some sun, always good times at Comporta Dunas. Last round in Portugal for now but many great memories, fun (if not skilled) golf on great courses and the usual food, wine and hospitality you can expect when visiting. Bye for now and I’m already looking forward to my next visit
