Hiking For Fun?!
Do hiking guides hike for fun? Absolutely!
What are the differences?
1. Route selection
2. Type of beverages 🍻
3. Amount of goofing off - escalated!
4. Conversation subject matter 😉
Guided hikes have their own sweet spot and we love getting people outdoors but hiking with a group of rowdy women is also a good day.
Pinnacle is one of our favourite hikes because it is short, steep has amazing views and is a fossil hunters dream. It has a couple tough sections including a steep incline right off the start.
This incline first goes through a forested area then increases in slope angle as it goes through an old avalanche path. The path has short shrubs, rocks, large boulders and can be slippery when wet.
After the initial climb, the terrain flattens and opens up onto the first “hump”. You start to see views of Mount Crum, and a glimpse of Windfall Lake.
Walking the Ridgeline shows off steep anticlines in the rock bed, alpine wildflowers, mosses and on this particular trip we saw the Goats 🙂.
Hikers travel along the ridge gaining and losing small levels of elevation before the final climb to the summit: a rocky, scramble that looks harder than it is.
The summit exposes the circular route where you can go all the way to Windfall Lake and back to the trailhead for a longer but gentler decline.
On this trip we chose the out and back route because we had a late start.
Conversation was centred around solving the worlds problems, we had Negroni’son the summit and ate Gochujang Chicken Bowls on the Lee side of the mountain.
Thanks to Jenna Bruun, Yvonne and Marnie for such a great day out!
We offer this hike as a private trip and we plan to offer the circular loop as a series of mini through hikes for 2027!
