The Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ have been caretakers and stewards of this land since time immemorial, and visitors are invited to learn from the Nuu-chah-nulth core teachings of:

🍃 cawaaksamin (We are all one): This core philosophy means that all things in the universe are interconnected. It teaches that the land, sea, animals, and people are all part of a single system, meaning that any action taken in one area affects all others.

🌊 ʔiisaak (Respect for all living things): This is the guiding principle of respect for nature, all creatures, and one another. It dictates that you only take what you need from the land and sea, ensuring that resources are preserved for future generations.

🦋 Uu-a-thluk (Taking care of): This represents the active responsibility of stewardship. It is the custom law and obligation of the people to manage and protect their traditional territories and aquatic resources so the environment can continue to care for the community.

Residing on the traditional territory of the Yuutu?it?ath Ucluelet First Nation, we invite you to join us in protecting, learning and honouring this magnificent place.

The event that will leave you anything (but) board 😜👇

West Coast Triple Plank is a 3-day a community-driven event to help protect the ecosystems along the coast and to celebrate the board sports that bring the community together: snow, surf, and skate.

Happening April 30 to May 3 this year - both at Mount Washington and in n̓ačiqs (Tofino).

Since its inception in 2017, Triple Plank has raised over $150K for – a local non-profit working to restore damaged salmon habitats and conduct research & education for ecological preservation and rehabilitation. With the help of partners like Patagonia, this work has continued and now extends to mułaa, Rising Tide Surf Society and Surfrider Foundation Pacific Rim Chapter, who both receive 10% of the proceeds raised through Triple Plank.

“The Westcoast Triple Plank’s goal is not to create podiums that will be remembered but instead, to bring us all together, no matter the skill levels, to engrave memories in our minds of joyful moments spent outside with old or new friends with the common goal to all pitch in a little bit towards keeping this playground we love in a state that can be enjoyed for as many future generations of shredders as possible,” says Marie-France Roy.

Come cheer on the competitors and be apart of the fundraising efforts!
