We spent August this year exploring the remote fiords of Baffin Island. Not an easy mission logistically but worth it. The landscapes are unreal, some of the world’s highest sea cliffs. Numerous polar bear sightings including a frisky teenager who chased us while kayaking (thankfully we could out paddle it) Large pods of Narwhals and Humpback whales. A special and unique adventure with a couple great groups.

The second trip of the West Greenland ski season has finished. The weather was completely bi-polar. We started and finished the trip with sunshine and powder turns and had a couple days of rain in the middle. Fun and adventure was had throughout. Thanks to a great crew.

Just wrapped up the first trip in West Greenland. Our boat for the trip Balto was delayed because of violent storms in the North Altantic. Thankfully with a quick pivot we were able to find an amazing replacement and we had an incredible trip with sunny skies, great snow, nightly Auroras and daily ondeck saunas. Great to team up with Powder Guides Ski Adventures for this trip. And thanks to a fantastic group of people who made this trip really special.

Greenland always promises a true adventure. We arrived this year just in time for a “Piteraq”. These are katabatic winds off the icecap that reach 300km/hr. In Greenlandic, this translates to “ the male wind that attacks!”. We just squeaked into Tasiilaq, and the winds started picking up. I have never experienced this phenomena before, and it was a truly unique experience. No one allowed outside, indoors was shaking, and the most agonising sounds from the wind I have ever heard. After 24 hours, we were out and about in the helicopter, finding pockets of snow not affected by the Piteraq. Thanks to the amazing team for such adventurous attitudes. greenlandadventureski

A day with in the Antarctic! Wake up to a big breakie, get out the door and ski tour to a peak, laugh with joy as you descend on skis, jump in a kayak and paddle with whales, back onboard for a refreshing dip, do it all again the next day!

I can’t count the number of times we commented on how small we felt in the grandeur of the Antarctic landscape. Here we are, standing by for a pickup after a ski run, the massive glacier front dwarfs us as a penguin observes our strange behaviour!

Everyday is a new adventure in the Antarctic. Awaking each morning in a new anchorage, being in the middle of an ice filled bay, lined with glaciers. With the excitement of a new ski descent in our imminent future, the Antarctic delivers!
