Introducing the Vancouver Maritime Experience.

Created in collaboration between Vancouver Maritime Museum and Vancouver By Sea, this new experience brings together Vancouver’s maritime history and the waters that continue to shape the city today.

The journey begins inside the museum, where guests are guided through stories of exploration, coastal heritage, and the National Historic Site St. Roch, before heading onto the water for an intimate sailing experience through English Bay aboard Wingaway, Vancouver By Sea’s 40-foot yacht.

Together, we’ve designed an experience that connects guests with a side of Vancouver that many never get to experience - combining history, storytelling, and life on the water in one seamless journey.

People forget how Vancouver actually looks.
Not through a car window. Not from a patio table.
Not between notifications and busy schedules.

We mean the water. The coastline.
The quieter version of the city that slows you down a little and reminds you why people fall in love with this place in the first place.

At Vancouver by Sea, we’ve been building experiences around exactly that feeling: creating moments where people can step away from the pace of the city and reconnect with Vancouver from a completely different perspective.

There’s something different about the journey home - somewhere between the coastline and Vancouver, everything started to feel real.

Not because the weather was perfect (though somehow, it was).
But because for the first time, this no longer felt like an idea in progress. It felt tangible.

Bringing the boat home marked another important chapter in the Vancouver by Sea story and the beginning of what this summer could become..

We’re excited to officially announce a new partnership between Talaysay Tours and Vancouver By Sea.

Together, we’re launching the Salish Sea Journey; a guided cultural experience blending Indigenous storytelling, marine ecology, and canoe travel along Vancouver’s coastline.

Created collaboratively by both teams, this experience was built around something we deeply value: slowing down, moving intentionally, and creating a more meaningful connection to the water, the shoreline, and the stories that have always belonged here.

🛶 Canoe travel along the coastline
🐚 A deeper connection to the Salish Sea through ecology, culture, and presence

Our first session launches May 21 at 5PM, with weekly group and private experiences continuing throughout the season.

After all the searching, this one felt different.

There was no real blueprint in the beginning. Just a feeling we kept coming back to, a quiet sense that there was something worth exploring if we stayed with it long enough.
