Here are two of the most convenient hotels to stay at if you are cruising out of Vancouver’s Canada Place Cruise Ship Terminal.

The Pan Pacific Hotel is actually part of Canada Place and the Fairmont Waterfront is directly across the street. How convenient is that?

Have you seen the Spinning Chandelier spin yet?

It’s located in a formerly underutilized space, hanging from beneath the Granville Street Bridge above the intersection of Beach Avenue and an unnamed alley. The work was designed by artist Rodney Graham. It is the public art component of Vancouver House, a 60-story condominium building designed by Bjarke Ingels.[1]

The chandelier has a cyclical show that takes place three times a day, at 12 p.m., 4 p.m., and 9 p.m. The cycle involves the work lighting up, lowering to its lowest point, rotating for four minutes, slowing down, stopping, and rising back to its original place.

The chandelier is styled like those made in the 18th century. It weighs about 3,400 kg (7,500 lb) and measures 7.8 m × 4.3 m (26 ft X 14 ft)

Hey Vancouver visitors, did you know you can take the (metro line) from , Vancouver International Airport, to downtown Vancouver and be there in about 25 minutes? Cost is only $9 per person. For one or two people with light luggage, this is usually your best option. Otherwise, taxi cabs (about $35-40) are easily accessible, as at most airports. From the domestic wing of the airport, these are the escalators to look for. From the International, go up to the departure level and walk across to the SkyTrain platform. Purchase your tickets from the ticket machines on the platform. Enjoy the ride and the views!
