The airport is dealing with unprecedented delays and cancellations due to the huge snowfall overnight - nearly all inbound domestic and transborder flights are cancelled until at least 4:00pm today, which means most outbound flights are also cancelled as there are no aircraft. If you are scheduled to depart today or tomorrow, please be sure to check the flight status with your airline prior to making your way to the airport

Vancouver International Airport is launching an exciting pilot project for travelers flying from Vancouver to the United States!!!

YVR Express is a new program that allows travelers to pre-book their time to go through security in the USA Pre-clearance terminal. You can book up to 72 hours in advance of your flight, and it's available for any flight departing Vancouver between 6:30am and 8:30pm (There are 4 red-eye flights that are not eligible as they depart from the international terminal, because pre-clearance is closed at night)

HUGE BREAKING TRAVEL NEWS TODAY!

It's expected that today the Biden Administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will announce that effective midnight Sunday June 12th - vaccinated travelers entering the United States will no longer be required to submit a negative Covid test prior to entry by air. This is a huge change in policy and now means that any Canadians traveling to the USA will no longer need to test at all traveling in either direction. It's important to note that the USA will still require all travelers to be fully vaccinated, and you will still be required to fill out the ArriveCan app prior to your return to Canada.

This comes on the heel of numerous European countries removing their covid restrictions, including Germany which has fully removed ALL restrictions to entering the country. Travel is reopening in a big way. If you are planning to travel during 2022 regardless of the date, I strongly recommend you begin planning - even Christmas is starting to book up fast!

Huge Huge news today!!!! As of April 1st, you will NO LONGER be required to get a pre-departure COVID-19 test to return or visit Canada!!!!!!!

Soon, travellers entering Canada will not have to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test, CTV News has learned. As of April 1, the federal government will be lifting the pre-arrival COVID-19 testing requirement at the border for fully vaccinated travellers.
