July is here and so are the illegal campers on Vancouver Island’s West Coast, leaving behind piles of trash and headaches for everyone. 🏕️

Parks Canada and local authorities are cracking down hard this summer with regular patrols to catch people camping without permits. They are targeting hot spots like Clayoquot Arm, Kennedy Lake Watershed, traditional territories of Tla-o-qui-aht, Yuułuʔiłʔath and Toquaht, as well as municipal streets, lots and BC Parks including Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. Camp without a permit and you could be hit with a fine of up to $25,000. Respect the land, get your permit and keep it clean.

In Condé Nast Traveler’s 37th readers' choice awards, Victoria was named the top small city, while Vancouver ranked 6th among big cities. 🏙️

Over half a million people participated in the survey.

Another picture perfect day to host the Lindblad/National Geographic Quest, sister ship to the Venture that was here last week. The 63 guest’s onboard experienced Victoria in all its grandeur, wrapping up with a private reception at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. And what’s a reception without an amazing culinary experience. Enter House of Boateng, the culinary maestro who always creates tantalizing canapés with every bite being a symphony of flavors. Fabulous day!

A great kick-off to the season with Lindblad/National Geographic expeditions. Their first ship of (our) season sailed into Victoria yesterday with 69 guests aboard. They had a fun filled day of adventure and cultural immersion, wrapping it up with a fabulous reception at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria.
