🌲VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Help Get Riding Mountain’s Trails Ready! 🌲reshared from Parks Canada RMNP

Do you love spending time outdoors and want to give back to Riding Mountain National Park? Join the Friends of Riding Mountain Trail Stewards and help keep RMNP’s trail network in great shape for everyone to enjoy!

No experience is necessary. Whether you can join for one morning or both days, we welcome all volunteers. All you need is:

âś… A love of the outdoors
âś… A willingness to lend a hand at your own pace
âś… A desire to support an incredible community fundraising event

Trail maintenance is especially important this year as we prepare to host the Epic East Gate Trail Run on September 12, 2026. Featuring 10 km, 25 km, and 50 km categories. Epic East Gate is the only ultra and trail running event held within Riding Mountain National Park. Over $40,000 in proceeds raised provide support to regional healthy living initiatives through the Dauphin Rotary Club.

Earlier this summer Trail Steward volunteers cleared portions of the North Shore Trail ahead of the Mennonite Central Committee’s - Cycling Clear Lake event which raised nearly $60,000 towards providing clean drinking water in West Bengal India.

💚 Whatever your experience; every hour makes a difference, and many hands make light work. Join us, meet like-minded outdoor enthusiasts, and help ensure RMNP’s trails are in top shape for this exciting event and for everyone who uses them.

Take a drive down highway 19, and stumble across a piece of rich park history. Built in 1933–1934, the Riding Mountain Park East Gate Registration Complex is the last surviving log entrance gate in Riding Mountain National Park.

We’ll be set up outside the Visitor Centre this Sunday, so stop by, learn a little about the planning process, and share what’s important to you.
